Three of Coins was poorly executed
1. Add a cooldown, it's as simple as that. Or -
2. Limit the type of bosses exotics can drop from; let only higher leveled strike bosses have a chance to drop exotics.
3. Make them more expensive.
Bungie has openly said the drop rate is too damn high. After all, it's about the journey, not the destination. I agree with Bungie when they say you should have a story behind every exotic.
I still think TTK is wonderful, they've done such good work with this. Faith restored Bungie!
Edit: I guess they're patching this, or have already. I tried it out and only got 2 exotics from like 20 coins.
Also, people were confused as to why I care what other people do with the game, so let me elaborate. Destiny is a social game, a social experience. Other people matter; we have larger group raid activities, Crucible, Iron Banner, Trials of Osiris... All of these are activities where you interact with other players, and your experience in these activities changes based on who those players are, and what those players are using. A vast majority of people who didn't use this exploit will be left in the dust as this DLC moves forward, with Iron Banner, Trials of Osiris, Raids, etc.

He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Destiny forums.

1 ReplyIf they wanted a story behind every exotic, why even have someone like Xur sell exotics? He could sell other, equally useful items. If they wanted every exotic to have a story, they should all have quests.

1 ReplyI love how people make it seem like this game is supposed to take up years and years of my time, just because bungie has a 10 year dream does not mean I have the same attention span. If there's an item to get me all the items I need /want and I grinded enough to get it. I'll buy it and use it. Period. I hope they don't nerf it too bad.

Sorry but any exotic except the quest ones goes like this..."the rng gods smiled upon me after grinding x amount of strikes/raids." So the story behind every exotic line is old and garbage.

I have every 'non quest' exotic gun in year 2. They definitely reward the player too easily

1 Replyjust finished my 15th heroic strike in a row using one 3oC per strike. Not a damn thing, so basically i just pissed away 21 coins which could have been used to get another helmet this time around. Even if I didn't need the helmet I could have possibly infused it into something else if it was a 310. I don't understand it. I do what they call legit and get nothing???

I've gotten 3 drops all shit and I've used easily 25 coins this is bullshit tbh the rng is -blam!-ing stupid yo! Can't get a 310 helm it's all 290 useless handcannons and lock helms ugh gotta love bungie and how gay their rng is 😊

Heres an idea. 1. If they don't work anymore, reduce the price. If not, let strange coins be more common so we arent wasting all our strange coins on a useless perk. 2. Increase the chance of an exotic drop so Xur is actually useful

I don't see the problem. When I do Heroic Strikes, I usually get an exotic engram on my third run, plus some legendaries. That is how 3oC were meant to be. Don't know why people are crying about the "nerf".

Look, I use these things constantly. I haven't run out of them since the first Xûr visit. I've gotten PILES of exotics. By piles of exotics, I mean exactly that I've gotten Crest of Alpha Lupi 87 times. It's already nerfed. Leave it alone.
