Titan melee should have a range buff. At the moment titans have the worst melee in the game. The Perks are incredibly lack luster and are just worse than other classes. Defender titans get a shield upon a kill with a melee and have to be incredibly close to actually get a melee hit, whereas sunsingers warlocks just have to get a hit. Striker titans get bonus damage that is completely useless in pvp.
Before someone brings up shoulder charge I'm going to explain why it's not op. First of all you need a run up and then have to find an enemy with in the time it's active, secondly it is incredibly easy to counter with a Shotgun to the face.
I personally think titans need a buff for there melee but if you disagree explain why.
Edit: this is more focused on the pvp capabilities of titan melee
Edit 2: people are saying titan melee is faster, can anyone link me some proof of that?

I don't mind the Titan melee, though I think instead of a range buff, maybe a strength buff would be better. Put a little more oomph in our fist to make up the lack of range. And I think it's pretty Titan-like to smash someone's face. :)
-
So used to my Warlock melee. Go to melee someone when I'm playing as my Titan and about 70% of the time I'm swinging into thin air and then I get a shotgun to the face haha.

Edited by DrEubanks: 9/5/2015 5:48:35 AMYes! Make it an auto firing punch, like the punching version of Necrochasm, with explosions on every melee kill.
-
It needs to be a 2 punch combo for how short its range is
-
I think it could use a slight range boost, because the animation doesn't fully extend the arm like the warlock or hunter, unless you actually hit someone. That being said it shouldn't have the same range as either of them because at the end of the day the only range it can get is the full extension of the arm, the warlock has that, plus the energy wave leaving the hand. The hunter has the extra reach from the knife. The titan melee could use a slight range buff, but not enough to be equal to a warlock or hunter
-
I hate being a t-Rex some times. Getting my enemy down to one punch kill while they're just a step away and I forgot to take that step or they just warlock melee me while I try. Bungie could have at least given titians a little bit of a lung forward, something that looks like real killing intent.
-
How about f***ing no? The real issue is taking away the insane range from warlock melee
-
Edited by oopssorryy: 9/5/2015 3:45:07 AMIt needs a built in lunge on at least the defender. Don't make any of the lunge frames invincibility frames to balance the extended range. We don't need CoD MW2 knife lunges, but some sort of guaranteed lunge if you are targeting someone would be nice. How about a Superman punch like GSP used to do?
-
All classes cant have the same abilities. I get it. Hunters and warlocks have ranged attacks. Titans have shoulder charge. Shoulder charge is harder to hit bc you have to be running but those are the breaks. Just play the game.
-
T-Rex arms
-
It's just a strait up punch, not a knife or ranged melee attack. Titans are the tank class, they're not meant to have much mobility, and to make up for that, you have shoulder charge
-
Shoulder charge op
-
Shoulder Charge m8, charge it before you hit that corner. Lol people just don't seem to think.
-
You have shoulder charge that's enough range

Titans have Shoulder Charge. Enough said?
Probably not, right?
-
I like them the way they are
-
Change that bitch to a straight right or left. Golden!
Who the -blam!- throws an ugly cross like that?
-
Shoulder charge
-
No. They have shoulder charge.
-
Titans use fist... Punching = Short Range Titan sad because Fist no extend to sneak up and punch Warlock. Titan dead by a hunter with the last word a mile away
-
I don't this it should have a buff because of shoulder charge and lightning grenades. 2 of the most op things or on the Titan havering a low range melee just evens it out.

Edited by a clumsy scrub: 9/5/2015 12:08:29 AMI hate responses that refer to shoulder charge as compensation. Have any of you people ever used or even heard of a Defender Titan? Lmao Melee needs to be a forward jab (for a tiny boost to range) and needs a tiny boost to lunge distance and frequency. The end result should still leave the Titan with the worst melee range, but at least its effective.
-
It does need a range buff. But that's basically saying Titans need longer arms.
-
Just doesn't make sense to have a ranged melee for titans.
-
Edited by D1ll0n_FST: 9/4/2015 11:50:05 PMIt actually has a lot of range. 4 meters to be exact, it's the fact that warlocks can have 6.0 meters and hunters can have endless range or 5.8 meters, that's only with the actual melee ability. I don't think it needs a range buff, but rather better abilities. Warlocks get range, flame shield and life steal? Hunters get invisibility, high damage from behind, a throwable? Titans get very niche talents. Shield on kill? Instant recharge? Please. I think the melees should just have better talents to compensate the lower range, and the fact that you shouldn't be punching enemies to death in endgame. However warlocks and hunters both have abilities that activate on hit. And don't even mention shoulder charge, it does laughable damage in pve and in pvp you get shot gunned half the time.
