no.
No.
NO.
False.
A lightning bolt is not present during FoH.
Let me explain how the super works. There's three types of Light. Solar, arc, and void light. Arc light is what the Striker subclass is powered on. Now, when a Striker is super charged, that means he has built enough Arc light to use FoH.
He then leaps up into the air and slams his fists into the ground, releasing an explosion of the said Arc light. He literally becomes an electric bomb of destruction.
Now, explosions not only go outward, but they go upward as well. Hence the reason you keep dying every time you jump above it.
The proper way to dodge a FoH is to try and jump away from it. Not above. Away.
It may seem hard. But with practice, you'll get it. Sometimes.
But yeah, anyway. I just wanted to de-bunk that stupid rumor and give some advice. This is coming from a Veteran Titan, so I know exactly what I'm talking about.
Oh yeah, another thing. If a lightning bolt is the reason for FoH, then how come there's no holes in the ceilings after we use it, and how are we able to cast it on the moon with no clouds or atmosphere? Just some more evidence that proves the lightning bolt thing is wrong.
Edit:Well, after debating, I went and read the same grimoire card over and over, went to youtube and watched the super being cast, and even casted it myself in game. There is a very thin line of electricity when he hits the ground, if you look hard enough. However, I believe that the lightning bolt is coming from the Titan himself and not the sky, which refers to the FoH Grimoire card saying "You will be a thunderbolt." In all seriousness though, I won't bother with this post anymore because I was looking for a civil debate, but it wasn't so civil when everyone in the comments is calling you "dumb" or "idiot". I've already started on a new post, it's a story set in the Destiny universe. Feel free to check that out, or keep bumping this post, it's your choice. Have a good one guys

Edited by McGubbins60: 8/30/2015 5:48:25 PMLmao you sounded pretty sure!!

There are two kinds of lightning strikes, cloud to ground, which can hit anywhere. Or ground to cloud. Ground to cloud lightning only happens when there is something on the ground that conducts it, and high intensity arc light discharges are certainly enough to cause such an event. That is why FoH titans aren't powerless on the moon, the lightning bolt is created by them and shoots into the sky, not the other way around.

arrow to yah fayse

Edited by PD Enki: 8/28/2015 11:59:39 PMYou are struck by lightning when you activate foh. It also continues to strike you until you land. Edit: I just read your edits, so yeah but the lightning is pretty significant but its not why it kills you in the air
-
I agree with the whole explosion thing but....there IS a strike of lightning that comes from the sky as a striker titan does his fist of havoc.
-
Wait. I know I've been killed by the panic fist whilst I was behind said panicking titan and before the ground has been smashed. Reached around and got me while I was behind. True story
-
Im glad its getting a nerf honestly the splash damage is too big plus the titian can havoc from behind shit and kill you on the other side.... Not cool man.
-
I can't somersault backwards :(
-
Your explosion theory makes sense, but if we aren't actually touched by said Arc light, there's no reason to fall over dead. Unless of course we happen to all be stricken by cardiac arrest at the same time.
-
Edited by Vinc3Charming: 8/28/2015 10:46:43 PMYeah, you don't see it as a titan. I've seen it once, today, in the cauldron of all places. Usually I'm busy dying/trying desperately to escape but I saw it from medium distance earlier, the titan was behind the lamp at a and I was back at the stairs of a spawn. But yeah, whether it strikes the titan from the sky or the Titan emits it from him, a thin little vertical lightning arc can be seen when FoH is used, sometimes at least. So....that's confirmed.
-
dude... your bringing physics into a game where we fight time traveling robots and zombies from "the darkness" with super powers granted from a giant floating ball in the sky.
-
Perfect explanation I always get wrecked in the air from FoH haha
-
Edited by tacoface1996: 8/28/2015 10:13:35 PMFoH creates an explosion of arc similar to a Rocket launcher shot or Nova Bomb, what do you expect it to be, a shoulder charge??? Please, take your salt elsewhere. Edit: didn't read the post till after i wrote my reply, my apologies to op. My post is meant for the cryhards.
-
there is a lighting bolt but its a straight line above the titan so it should have a tiny area of effect i.e. directly above the titan and the rest of the FoH should have a flat kill box
-
Edited by soloqueued: 8/28/2015 5:27:08 AMLol you're dumb. Look at the fist of havoc grimoire card and then come back here. Lol either you're trolling or you're a really bad Titan lmfao.
-
If you slow mo the super, he gets a lightning bolt in his hands while they are above his head.
-
I mean they emit lightning from them... Cause they are overloaded and unleash all the belt up energy into a smash explosion. Not saying the lightning kills but it is there as an effect
-
You can clearly see a massive lightning bolt form as you do FoH lol.
-
People actually put a thought into it? It's a coded mechanic. Kinda like how blade dancers can super up to my titan 40 feet in the air, never having to press jump once. It's just how it is.

Edited by TrulyDontCare: 8/28/2015 5:35:25 AMEdit: holy balls, I've lost all hope for this forum. I *casually* state an opinion and immediately get numerous people throwing absolute fits like little children. You guys act like I dick slapped your mom in front of you. Sorry if I wounded your delicate sense of self worth by insulting your favorite video game move. I stick by what I said, but I deleted it, so I don't have to see these whiny -blam!-ing comments all night. I know they're only going to grow worse, so I'm stopping it now. I really, really don't give enough -blam!-s to have that conversation.

OP has never watched an FoH animation in his entire Destiny career.

Wow, the dumb just got... Dumber... 0_o
