Will extra legendary weapons have any use in TTK? Wondering if I should keep stockpiled or start dismantling.
-
Whatever your weapons are worth now is what they'll be worth in The Taken King. That is, good for all Year 1 content, and breaks into Energy or Motes + Weapon Parts.
-
I've been letting legendaries/exotics pile up at the postmaster - never done that before (day 1/beta player) but was hoping they could be dismantled for something after TTK is released. If I'm reading a lot of these posts correctly, I may as well part out the postmaster stashed legendary stuff now - won't turn into legendary marks or anything else useful in ttk What about extra exotics? I've got a few of those in the post master.
-
Dismantle them.
-
No point. Infusion requires a = / + weapon to boost the other. These weapons will be lower value than green weapons in TTK. They are worth a mote of light now or later. Doesn't make a difference. They will also NOT decode into newer gear (same with HoW). The only engrams that decoded day 1 for HoW were the ones farmed from the HoW patrol chests.
-
The only reason to stockpile weapons would be to dismantle them. I think everyone is getting confused about this, it doesn't matter how many powerful weapons you have, you could have every gun at 365 and each piece of armour maxed out but it's not going to change anything. Your light lvl is calculated by the equipment your character actually has equipped. For example if you have a light lvl of 260 due to your weapons and gear but you pick up a few items that have stats of 280 then your light lvl will increase to about 270
-
No unless you want to keep them. They will dismantle into motes in ttk as well. Also none will be of a higher atk than taken king weapons, so you can't use them to infuse either.
-
Not unless we can use them for infusion i guess. Only year 2 weapons will generate the legendary marks.
-
Bungie has said the method of determining what level you're going to be on TTK release day will be determined by your equipment and weapons which is why they told you not to dismantle anything.
-
Stockpile for now hopefully be a higher level when TTK hits then dismantle
-
Stockpile then dismantle in the TTK for legendary marks
-
It just another week..just save them until then...I'm sure you will live...
-
Only as engrams to level up your cryptarc and get new TTK engrams.
-
i've been holding on to my random purple weapon drops, but increasingly it seems that they won't be worth anything different in ttk than they are today 1) to infuse a weapon, you need to infuse it with a weapon which is stronger than it, this rules out using any pre-ttk weapons to do the infusing (only ttk weapons will be eligible to infuse) 2) breaking down ttk weapons will give legendary marks, breaking down pre-ttk weapons will give whatever they gave before ttk dropped. it's probably keeping weapons that you like, becuase you never know if they will be ascendible in some future, but for ones that you don't like or use, probably worth just breaking them down now.
-
I also have a question, are we going to get some levels boosted on the first day of TTK of all the bounties and missions we've played and turned in? Or?? I'm still confused about the leveling system on how they're going to do something with our level from our weapons in our inventory and vault
-
With the sacrifice system hold onto them
-
Crucible. Don't dismantle anything yet.
-
I remember when tdb came out. Dismantled everything, and then bungie was like "hey guys remember when we said you can't bring your old guns to the new dlc. Well j/k, here's HoW and etheric light." Soooo I'm just saying you might want to hold on to some stuff.
-
I'm thinking while they won't be upgradeable, they might be applicable to infuse newer weapons. I'd hold on to em until TTK drops.
-
Only TTK legendaries will shard into legendary marks so there's no point in keeping extra legendaries.
-
Keep them to level up
-
Keep them until TTK then get rid of the ones you don't plan on ever using.
-
Stock. Use them to feed to new weapons
-
Theyll still be viable in crucible and pre ttk content. Other than that just for collections sake since infusion only works with more powerful weapons being fed to your desired one.

I simply think since Deej said not to dismantle anything yet... he knows whats coming we don't... and we've been juggling guns for a year now... few more weeks won't hurt anything...
-
Deej said not to dismantle yet. i think we will be able to use them as sacrifices to infusion, no conformation on that though
