Buff Dragon's Breath

TLDR at the bottom In all of destiny, there are currently three exotic rocket launchers. The Gjallarhorn, Truth, and Dragon's Breath. Thanks to Xur, I have all three of them now. And the more I use my newest one, the more it seems like DB hardly deserves to be an exotic. It just doesn't have the same usability as the other two. Arguments about the Ghorn nerf aside, since I'm just glad to actually have one now, it has tracking. It's wolfpack rounds have tracking. Great, thumbs up to bungie, it works to kill things from a distance, and is clearly worth the exotic slot. Probably goes without saying, really. Also, it looks like an exotic. Now, the Truth. Obviously, it's not in the same boat as the Ghorn, but really, is any gun at this point? It still has tracking, and with "grenades and horseshoes" perk you barely have to aim. And the camera look makes it feel like it's an exotic. Now, we come to the weapon that was meant to be a Crota Killer. Dragon's Breath. Its first perk lets you carry three rockets. That's it. Truth does that by default, and the whole reason either does it because the Ghorn only holds two. They let the other exotics carry three to try and balance it with the Ghorn. With Truth, it's at least a better trade off. Dragon's Breath, on the other hand? Just means three rockets you'll probably miss with at a distance, especially since the rockets are so much slower There are tricks to correct it, of course, like aiming at their feet, or trying to lead them, but it's still far harder to hit with than the other two. And when you hit them, it's not really worth it. The flare was designed to take down Crota's shields, but half the time you'll miss, and the other half of the time the Ghorn or Truth is a better choice anyway. Or a plain old legendary rocket with tracking. The flare could lock down an area, or damage a group of enemies, but so could a grenade. YMMV on the looks. I think it's a little lackluster compared to some of the others, but it's still pretty damn cool. Point is, it would be so much more useful if they replaced the three round perk with tracking, or at least proximity. Or failing that, make it hold three by default and give it some other bonus for the first perk, like extra velocity. As is, the only reason I ever use it for PVE is if there's a solar burn for the weekly and I'm bored. Or just on patrol or something where I don't need to hit hard, and I can just relax. And let's face it, nobody with half a brain uses it for PVP. Like, ever. TLDR: Dragon's Breath needs tracking or proximity to really put it on the same level as truth or the defanged Ghorn. It's impractical in PVE and unusable in PVP,.
