I know I will get a lot of crap for this but I don't care. This needs to be addressed if it hasn't already. I want to make it clear that I don't complain about things regularly, this is the first post I've ever made regarding video games. And i don't spend any time on this website so I wont be arguing with anyone, I'm making this post in hopes that someone at Bungie will see it and consider my thoughts on the subject. I'm a mother of a 3 year old boy so I don't play video games all day like some other people do. ALTHOUGH, believe me I wish i could. My fiance works all day so he can't game as much as he wishes he could either. My fiance and I game together and Destiny is literally a part of our relationship. We like it that way. Destiny brings us together in a weird way but its a good thing. We do spend way too much time gaming though, that is for sure. My fiance works a lot so every night after my son goes to bed, we game together. Destiny has pulled us both out of depression and its a huge part of our lives. We live Destiny. We support it to its fullest. We both have an xbox one because sharing one console caused many many arguments. Could you share your xbox? I dont think so. ;) We have "regular" lives so we don't play all dang day because lets face it, not all of us gamers are streamers or youtubers and do this for a living although WE WISH that was the case. My point is, we dont spend 20 hours a day playing Destiny. (overexaggeration??) For the amount of time we play, we are both pretty good. Good enough to score highest in a crucible game 90% of the time. We support everything Destiny has done and brought us including Trials of Osiris. We appreciate the fact that there is special gear that any guardian can get IF they are good enough. Because that is what it is based on right? Only the best of the best? Here is where we run into a problem....We ARE good players. We HAVE gone flawless. We CAN win games. we HAVE won games. We have every exotic in the game. We have multiple characters. We take Destiny SERIOUSLY. BUT we don't have the time to play all day :/ Heres my question, why are we catering to those who have the life that grants them to play 20 hours a day? or even 10 hours a day? Thats a lot of hours that i just do not have. Why are we assuming that all gamers have that kind of time on their hands? I think thats where were going wrong here. Every adult I play with has the same story we do, we wish we could game more than we do, but we have kids! or work 35+ hours a week. We think about Destiny all day and cant wait until we can get online! while all these streamers and youtubers and what not, sit at home and play the game all day WE WISH WE WERE DOING THAT TOO. But thats life, you cant always get what you want. I understand the exclusiveness of the Trials gear and I understand what they were going for, but is Bungie telling me that because I only spend 4 hours AT MOST out of the day playing, that I can't go flawless? I want to make it clear that we've gone flawless ONCE. We've attempted it numerous times but by the time we get to play on Sunday and get a trials team together, all the "PROS" are online trying to prevent players like us from going flawless because they're "bored". If they are so good that they're bored enough to prevent someone from achieving something big for themselves in this game, lets make them NOT so bored. Lets give them the challenge they so desire. I mean PROS and STREAMERS are so "bored" they think its funny to go through Trials with special conditions like "we can beat them with only melee" or "we can beat them with only no land beyond" and I mean, good for them, but thats just not fair to people like us. So wheres my fix for this? Lets put them with each other. Give them a taste of their own medicine. LETS MAKE THIS TRUELY FAIR. Because lets face it, if someone like me who plays less than 4 hours a day against someone who playes more than 10 hours a day...the person who plays 10 hours a day is going to win 95% of the time unless there was a miracle. Lets say someone has gone flawless 30 times, well lets put them with other people who have gone flawless 30 times!!! We have ranking on Prison of Elders, Factions, the Queen, Eris, etc.....Why not on Trials? This has gotten so bad and people were so desperate to try to beat these complete MLG pros that they started CHEATING (which I do not support in the slightest as me and my team have also been victims of this atrosity) but PEOPLE HAVE MADE SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSES OFFERING THEIR GAMING SKILLS TO OTHER PLAYERS FOR THE "SMALL PRICE OF $100"??? to get pulled through Trials?? NOT FAIR, IM SORRY, NOT FAIR AT ALL. That is just ridiculous. People are paying money to get pulled through this every week, thats how desperate people are. (we aren't that desperate we just want to win FAIR AND SQUARE) All I'm saying is, this is a problem. I dont know about yall but the place ive seen the most "lag switching" is in TRIALS!! Cheating is not the answer but the fact that people were driven to that is so sad to me! If we made it more possible for these people to go flawless, maybe we wouldn't see it as much is ALL I'm saying? More extreme solution to this problem? Make it to where we can only go flawless once a week? ON ONLY ONE CHARACTER. ONCE A WEEK. That way we don't have other players who are "bored" trying to prevent other players from that same achievement they themselves have made for themselves (and been paid to help others go flawless) so many countless times this week. I mean comon guys, really? At the end of the day I love Destiny, I love the people, I love the competition, and I love bonding with my fiance over this game that I will definitely play for a long while whether its problems are fixed or not. Please remember I'm not trying to "ruin" anything for the good guys, I'm just trying to make this whole Trials thing fair. I think yall Pros deserve a real competition and not just an annihiliation, but when you do finally annihiliate someone on your same level, how much more satisfying will that be? Just think about that before you jump down my throat guys. Or maybe my idea is just godawful and no one will give this post the time of day, either way I can tell my friends I tried for us and that is all that matters! Thank you for listening guys, and game on! <3 Moknockerz

I'm a streamer who does Trials carries with my teammate (EDIT: for free!). While I can't speak for every streamer out there, I can think of a few reasons why pros and streamers are constantly playing ToO: 1. Challenge - Part of the reason I do carries is to add challenge to the game. When my actual team plays together, it's just a stompfest. We cut every team down with ease, save for the odd pro team we see where we actually have to try. We have played games in Skirmish/IB/ToO where we all ran NLB and, regardless of whether the other team was shooting us or not, we all had to dance anytime someone got an NLB headshot, which was often. It's funny for a little while, but gets stale fast. Playing with someone who regularly goes negative adds difficulty, and it's awesome when we get someone to the lighthouse for the first time. 2. Lack of regular gametypes - If I want to play elimination, most of the time I don't have a choice but to play ToO. Why bungie can't keep elimination as a regular playlist is beyond me. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would play an elimination playlist instead of ToO if given the option, particularly if that playlist is ranked. Unfortunately, this is not available. 3. No competitive outlet - Related to #1, but not exactly the same. There's currently no ranked playlists where competitive players can prove they are the best (or not, as the case may be). Thus, the only way to get competitive is to play the gametype where everyone is trying as hard as they can...which is ToO. I don't really agree that everyone playing someone at their own "level" would substantially decrease the amount of time it would take for you to get to the lighthouse. "Same level", to me, means playing teams where there is an equal amount of skill and thus an equal chance of winning or losing for both teams. If that is the case, you would have a 3.6% chance of going to the lighthouse each run (assuming you buy all boons before the first game). That is, on average, you would expect to go to the lighthouse once every 28 runs. So you wouldn't decrease the time it takes for you to go to the lighthouse, you will have just decreased the number of teams that make it to the lighthouse every week. In fact, you will have done the exact opposite of what you wanted to do...only those people who have time to play several hours a day would have the chance to go to the lighthouse every week! The best solution to this problem is to increase the number of permanently available playlists (especially including elimination) and add ranked playlists. It won't solve everything, as there would still be losers who get off on ruining people's ToO runs, but it would go a long way towards mitigating the problems for pro/competitive players I mentioned above.

  • I agreed with your poll. I don't think the game should cater to players who can play all day or those who cannot; it should cater to everyone, and ranked matchmaking does that. It's more fun, and competitive, for everyone to play at their own skill level. The games become a competition of teamwork and coordination rather than individual FPS skill.

  • I understand where you're coming from but I find odd that playing 4 hours isn't enough for you. When I get on (at this point mostly for ToO) I only play 2-3 hours in the evenings during the weekend. I work full time and have other responsibilities also. But the amount I put in seems more than enough. I'm able to go flawless during that time or finish both raids (still need the graverobber and pretorian foil) or PoE (32,34,35) in 2-3 hours. Also the whole point to ToO is "the best of the best", forcing the players who enjoy playing this game type every weekend (I.e. me) to only playing once every week is very dishearting. I would have no reason to be on for more than one day. If that was the case the population of ToO by Monday would be a ghost town. But of course that's my opinion and understand your problem.

  • While i completely understand your side, as well as anyone else who is frustrated how tough it is to go to the lighthouse for one reason or another, that is part of the exclusiveness. If you can't beat the best, then you can't go to the lighthouse. And believe me, i know how frustrating it is to fail passages because people play ultra sweaty or even lagswitch, because this has happened to me multiple times. Another thing, you said that you only play 4 hours hours a day at max, but that should be more than enough to get at least 2 good Trials runs in, even 3 if everything goes smoothly, and considering that Trials lasts for 4 days every single week, that just shouldn't be an issue if you are good enough. And lastly, for a seperate playlist of flawless teams to work it has to be optional. While i like a challenge, i don't wanna be playing the sweatiest of the sweatiest at all times, as that simply isn't fun. Correct, it makes it all the more satisfying when you beat them 5-0, but ultimately causes a ton of frustration when you get Blink shotgunned or die around a corner from Thorn over and over again.

Why I don't even bother with ToO or IB for that matter. Want my 73 passage coins? ;)

  • if you have 1000 hours + you should only be match made with people with that many hours even out the playing field

"Cosmo" spells his name Cozmo. All jokes aside, I agree with this post. I'm terrible at PvP, and only decent at PvE, so the best I can do is empathise with you. I've never considered how pros, whose challenges in raids are cool and interesting, present real problems in ToO. Even if Bungie doesn't do anything about it, hopefully the community can work together to make this practice in ToO taboo.

  • A ranking system would be grand, but then you'll run into the same problem once you reach a high enough rank if you and your fiance are winning regularly. Perhaps something as simple as removing exotics (and possibly supers) in Trials would allow for more balanced match ups, rather than competence with a hand cannon. As for players who "prevent others because they're bored", I'm not so sure that's the case and sounds like a personal gripe with those who have so much time playing, but I could be misinterpreting. Also, the cheating situation is rampant apparently with numerous posts and vids on this site alone documenting cheaters and lag switchers. The most you can do is report them and don't notify the cheaters, otherwise they'll report you out of spite. Bungie needs to address that ASAP. Keep your chin up though Guardian (:
