Fwiw, I got the collect-more-money-from-me addition for the base game. I was able to get it on Amazon long after it had sold out everywhere else. It had sold out on Amazon too, but magically became available again for a few hours one day (I'm assuming they had a small supply left from people who cancelled their preorders), so I bought one. This is the only time I ever saw it available again from any retailer. It was not worth it. I repeat, not worth. Even if you're intent on buying the expansion and are a fan, I'm sure you'll be able to find Cade's journal entries to read somewhere else at some point. The dinklebot collectible from the base game collector's ed. has lines that are just as bad as the ones Peter D. reads in-game. Acquiring this marvel was like acquiring something out of a claw machine game. At the end of the day, it is just... meh. Good for completing a particularly devoted fan's Cosplay ensemble, I suppose. The other papery stuff, I think, would have been better received had Destiny's story not been as fractured and glued together as it was. Having this stuff available to me to thumb through did not bridge the gap between the poorly done in-game story and the last-minute edition "lore" any better than the out-of-game grimoire cards did. All that said, I like several aspects of Destiny. You will find all that you need in the regular edition. I, however, am not going to order any edition of the game until they demonstrate that they've fixed the story, meaning, I won't be there with you flying through the rings of Saturn on launch day, fellow guardians. Bungie needs to actually earn my money this time around with some good reviews.
