My dad recently told me that he wants to play a game from start to finish. He has never played a game in his life and he doesn't even play mobile games on his phone. I am looking for a game for him to play. The game has to be easy and straight foreward. I was thinking of having him play the legend of zelda windwaker hd for the wii u. Is this a good game for him to play and do you have any ideas for a game for him to play. I have a Xbox One, Xbox 360, wii u ds, gameboy, 3ds, and ps2

Edited by Moonman: 8/5/2015 7:04:24 AMDark Souls. It is easy and pretty straight forward. Combat is Hack n slash so its not that hard. Story may be lacking unless he likes reading and looking for cool items.

Dark Souls. Don't click Dorit's link.

conkers bad fur day :D
-
Bring out the Unturned. Stupidly easy, mindless zombie killing. Bring out more complicated games later.
-
Now that Rare Replay is out, play Battletoads co op with him.
-
Witcher 3 on hardest difficulty wouldn't be too bad.

Halo CE was the first game I really got into and has a definitive start and end. Also, I may get a lot of hate for saying this but Destiny is a good starter game (at least lvl 1-20) as it isn't too challenging.
I very much dislike Destiny, but this is my honest recommendation.
Dark souls! :D

The last of us boom

One of the older-newer CoDs. Like CoD4 or World at War. My dad liked playing World at War with me back when that came out.

Hmmm. I got my 6 year old cousin into games at 3 so I know some stuff. Try to get him something with very easy button controls. Also something with a nice story. Absolutely no dual stick games. What I mean is one controlling move and the other for look. Both my pops and my younger cousins have extreme difficulty with this. Hope this helps

Get the gears of war trilogy. Not a lot to get confused on and he might enjoy the whole story between the 3 games

Wow you're dad still looking for a game? It's been over a year!

Assassin creed

Dark souls 1

My girlfriends mother had the same question. We instantly thought a Telltale game would be the best idea.
It was
Zelda for 64 would be a great game to start with. Plus you can pick up Mario kart and smash bros old people love Mario kart.
-
Red dead redemption
-
Wind Waker would be an awful first game. Even though it's one of my all time favorite games, it's got it's problems that will frustrate a new player.
-
Give him fallout 4 when that comes out. Or even give hm fallout 3. Any of the elder scrolls games are also acceptable.

I got my dad into gaming by buying him a ps3 and gran turismo (he's a race mechanic) a few years back. It wasn't long before he bought a steering wheel and pedals. He now plays destiny more than I do and he's in his 50's! Find something he's into and the rest will follow.

Edited by SneekySneaker: 8/3/2015 3:16:59 AMToo bad KotOR isn't out on xbox360/1 that would have been a good start for him

Don't let your dad be a filthy casual. Force him to play dark souls if need be.

Wind Waker is a great start to gaming if you ask me. It's a beautiful world, and definately the easiest of the 3d Zelda games. I think that is a great starting point.
