VoG = (New friends + destiny addiction) gained ...... PoE = (Friends + interest) lost

Just wanted to share with you how I became addicted to Destiny and then went completely cold turkey. I had ZERO online friends when I first logged into destiny. I had no need for them. I've been a soloist my entire gaming life. I was never interested in playing against or with other people. Then along came Vault of Glass with (at least in the beginning) the necessity for 6 man teams. I wanted the rewards so I had to make friends and I went from 0 to 100 online friends very quickly and became completely addicted to Destiny. Considering how much of an anthropophobic, curmudgeonly a-hole I am personality-wise, it's shocking to think that it was the community that got me hooked. It truly was a phenomenal achievement on your part. The above applied to Crota as well but, unfortunately, since the PoE came along with it's 3-man teams and lack of check points the community seemed colder because I found it difficult to form a team of 3. The best of my friends (that's best in terms of how much I like them and how good they are at the game) are in different timezones so they'd be already in teams of 3 when I got online others would be asking me to join them when I wouldn't have enough time to complete PoE with them so I'd have to decline. I couldn't justify wasting 2-3 hours just getting up to Skolas if I'd have to sign off before finishing him. With VoG & Crota the 6-man teams meant that at almost any point there'd be a 4 or 5 man team waiting for me to join. And, with the check points and reward drops & chests, I could join in at any point and not be wasting my time. So two suggestions for any upcoming raid style activities: 1) Allow teams of different sizes and scale the number and difficulty of enemies depending on the current number of players in the team. 2) Someone else somewhere in the forums posted this suggestion and I think it's worth pointing out again... Use check points and allow people to join a team part way through. In PoE to prevent people from gaining advantage by passing a checkpoint around, award a round 1 token for completing round 1 a round 2 token for completing round 2 etc. Once you have all of the tokens take them to Variks or whoever and the final reward is granted. Or make them keys and make the chest reachable at anytime from the central room between rounds so that once you have all of the keys you can open the chest. This means I could join a team on round 5 tonight then come on tomorrow and help another team joining in at round 2 and do 2, 3 & 4 and then go back and complete round 1 which'd give me the final key/token I need to get open the chest or collect my reward. Now I'm off to play more games which aren't destiny. Good luck with the next one.

POE = Taking your favorite guns, and playing around. If you hate don't play it. And I agree VOG is the best Raid experience I ever had. Bungie has not made anything yet, that even as good as VOG. Vog was awesome! Thats why I call it the VAG :), cuz its so good.
