How effective are you at using current black hammer?
Just wanting to see how good people are with black hammer in its current state. It's a self rate so obviously people are going to think they're better than they really are but try to place yourself as accurately as you can.
In my experience the gun is very situational. I can easily chain dps some slow moving lame A.I. bullet sponges with massive crit spots but things like Valus, long range Templar, downstairs nexus, and omnigul are much harder for me to get a chain going.
To me the white nail is hardly an exotic perk as I can maybe get a good three chains on most bosses and then miss or get hit and have my aim get knocked off. I know some people who are the opposite and are complete badasses with the gun and can chain dps anything that moves.
I'm not a great sniper but I greatly like the idea that if I got better with the gun then I can get better and longer chains of dps. The 2.0 nerf would pretty much see the end of this goal and many will likely drop/dismantle it altogether for guns like the spear that can roll with better perks than mulligan (lol).

2 RepliesThis is why I am worried about it after the patch. I haven't ascended it yet. I only use the gun with the walkers, but I enjoy having it. As I just watched a video talking about it they should decrease the reserve ammo to around 8 because missing would be more costly or turning the whole weapon into an exotic that way you have to chose. But even on weeks when the burn is beneficial to use it, I know prefer to use a sniper with surplus in order to gain more ammo in general.

This is the nerf I disagree with the most as it will turn what is one of the most unique and satisfying guns in the game into something unremarkable. Every time I get out the blackhammer I get a little excited - like a mini game with a game - but probably won't use it after the patch. Infact, it was next on the ascend list but that honour now goes to the spear. A better nerf, if it needed one, would have been to reduce the ammo total.

4 RepliesI'm a skilled sniper so don't take my opinion as law. It's more of an elitist view in hindsight. If I can hit the 3 quick precision shots why the hell shouldn't I get rewarded with more ammo? At least it's not like the icebreaker where I can miss all my shots, but 36 seconds later I'm sitting in the same spot with a full sniper.

Great topic! I'd say I'm somewhere in the 50/50 About half of the time I'm able to proc the perk on bosses. I don't really use the sniper on ads except for maybe some big headed enemies like knights which I can chain headshots a little easier on.

ticked the "I have no aim" box - love the way the gun sounds & looks and feel like a baddass when I fire it. Whats more is I'm ok with that ;D

1 ReplyPhogoth and valus give me the hardest trouble. Besides them I can chain the other bosses and that's it.

I've had it awhile but never really liked it much. And couldn't get into it. I guess I should have used it more, because it is great on bosses that never move...
