Will you buy The Taken King?
I am curious to see what people think.
I recommend you watch the video it was interesting to find out why Destiny is so addictive.
I think we can all agree Destiny has good aspects but mainly it is the community of players. The bad is the corporate greed and the ridiculous RNG but that is related to making the game addictive so are you willing to be taken in by hype and manipulation?
This is the core of the matter for why I asked this question and what it would take to convince me to buy it: The Taken King will have to be excellent for me to buy it after the 3 burns we have had with the game then hoping the DLCs would fix things and they did some things but broke others and it was not enough by a long shot. Also the content has to be as much as we have already had combined from the game and two DLCs, because both the game and the 2 DLCs were light on content by at least 50%. Those behavioral tricks they use to make us addicted can backfire.
I was all for supporting Desitny by buying the first 2 DLCs hoping it would improve but when is it enough?
They claim as much as 20 million players and lets say on average $50 per player that is $1,000,000,000 that is a billion if you are unclear and that is a lot of money for the current state of destiny. And the reality is that $50 is less than what most people paid for this game.

So don't say they need to make their money back because they did even if the $500 million was the actual budget for the original game and not for the entire 10 year series.
(I am re-editing the original post since I was a bit preachy and moralizing people should make up their own mind)
I hope Bungie does not kill this right away.

5 RepliesYes, there's no reason why I wouldn't given I enjoy playing Destiny. If they announce that they'll be adding MM to all end game content as part of TTK (like they should've done at launch) I may even pre-order it.

If I'm unable to ascend weapons and armor If there's no increase in vault space No option for match making not because I need it but for the millions of others that do and I would like to meet and play with randoms as destiny is supposed to be a social game. If they don't fix the server issues or monitor the PvP closer. If RNG is still broken and no new real content not this rehash of old content or reverse of current maps. Then no I'm not going to purchase TTK I'll look to spending my time in another game until the next package deal or discount.

I did a big mistake by pre-ordering Destiny after 2013 E3 Trailer, and i will not do that again. I have to see Taken King and reviews before buying then i will decide.

2 RepliesWhy is there a only two options? The game hasn't been released so its too early for me to make that determination. However, I will not purchase it blindly like I did Destiny. I'll wait a few days then sift through the reviews and formulate a decision based on that. Bungie is currently on my bad side so the reviews better be damn good or I'll pass on it like I did with the previous expansions.

1 ReplyI preorder this game thinking "Oh yeah, they made Halo, I loved those games. I watch the trailers, buy into the hype, get the game on day 1 and within a week I beat the game only a few hours at a time, did the raid a few times (with no good gear to show for it), and with only 4 days worth of play time on my account I can say I am glad I never preordered the expansion pass, and I will pass on this TTK piece of crap they are calling an expansion, or "a game in its own right" or what ever nonsense DeeJ was blowing smoke about. I'm done supporting these assclowns. Im not going to throw money at the screen for some useless emotes/shaders/sparrow reskins. Im also not going to put my hard earned money into this racket that is running rampant in the gaming industry. Since when did it become ok to release an incomplete game with planned DLC from the gate? I mean seriously....why do developers and publishers think its ok to try and nickel and dime their player base? Why should we be beta testing your game if you wont put out a completed product at launch? I'm not wasting another dime on this game anymore. Fallout 4, Assassin's Creed, Gears 4, Division, and so many other great games are coming down the pipeline. I think I will just stick with Elder Scrolls rather than play this watered down wanna be game. I'm done spending hours running the same missions to collect spinmetal and the like. I'm tired of repeating the same tired strikes. I'm not paying for DLC to get another raid just to be let down because RNGesus gave the shittiest player the best gear. Oh you added more exotic shit for this expansion? Let me guess you only gotta do the raid 100 times to get said gear right? Lets ignore the fact you pretty much want to shit on year 1 players by saying you can only get the good shit if you either buy the collectors edition, which is really rebuying everything you would already have if you bought the other BS, or you can have already bought that crap and got to light level 31 which is bullshit in itself. Didn't we already have a game that required you to have light levels to increase your player level? Way to be original on that one bungie....they may have called it something different but you still copied it. I got my play time, and I had fun with my clan mates, but this game is done for me. Nothing they could say will bring me back. This Bungie day crap is garbage. Wanna reward people that had it since launch? Give the DLC for free. I'm done. Peace out.

Mario maker comes out a week before and a few big releases shortly after. Destiny is a great game, but rehashing old content and making us pay for it seems a little crazy. I won't order it until they show me something compelling. HOW's had a pretty good story, but the trailer for this is horrendous and the story is the worst yet. $40 for corny doesn't make sense; and at this rate if you wait and buy it later you get rewarded for not buying it day 1 with much better discounts. Their pricing is all backwards.
