So I think I have a simple solution to the FoH. Nothing is more frustrating then being 20ft in the air and dying to a super that involves striking the ground. This got me thinking of a fairer solution to FoH. I think it would be fairer if the aerial damage was nullified completely. In exchange, FoH area on the ground was increased by 2 or even 2.5. Basically if your standing you are obliterated. But if you see a striker charging you and jump you are fine provide you don't touch the ground as his super goes off. Any Titans think this is a fair trade off? Additionally, since this would be a strictly ground base Super, if you are hiding in a corner or behind a wall and a smash goes off, you'd still die if your in the AoE. All other perks like Aftershocks and others would still apply. I think the Shockwave would have to be reworked a bit. Edit: This community is truly sad. You try to have a simple discussion and then the toxicity flows in. Thank you to the few that actually replied intellectually. Swing by the Destiny community on Reddit and Neogaf if you have the time.

  • *Deej looks at post Deej: "Oh no..." *Deej runs out of his house, gets in his car to get to the office. It breaks down. So he goes on foot. He crosses the deserts, climbs mountains, sail the deadly seas. He must get this information to Harold Ryan, the president of Bungie. Finally, Deej reaches his destination. He is exhausted. Deej is drenched in sweat and hardly able to breath. He could fall over dead any minute. Deej: "Mr. Ryan, A Nightstalker is upset." Ryan: "Who?" Deej: "A Nightstalker, sir..." Ryan: "My god...bring me the button." *Deej breaks open a glass box on the wall labeled Use in case of emergency. He pulls out a button from the scattered remains and hands it to Ryan. Ryan pushes the button Confetti pops everywhere and a banner drops that reads No One Cares in bright bold letters. A faint "Yea" can be heard in the background. Ryan: "Money well spent." *Looks over to Deej* Ryan: "Now get back to work and remember to tell me every time someone complains. I just love using this button."

Don't completely remove it, some AOE aerial damage should remain.

      • Don't nullify it completely. I could prove it from a physical, science-y standpoint or an appearance standpoint. SCIENCE
Obviously the Fist of Havoc is a devastating blow to the ground, but no, the range should not reach as high as it does. Since it is powerful enough to leave a pool where it continues damaging players and can have a powerful shockwave that lashes out in the direction the player is looking, there should be at least a small value of aerial damage. A strike that powerful would have some effect on the air above it, and since we can not simulate it, suppose killing a player is the effect. However, this effect would dissipate quickly as the particles do not collide as often as in the ground. About two to four feet above the ground, the effect should have dissipated or be close to it. So it is not underpowered, everything above this height would still receive damage, but not be killed.
APPEARANCE
You can clearly see in the Fist of Havoc animation that there is some height to the quake caused by it. It reaches up three to four feet high if I remember correctly and so that would kill someone even if they were off of the ground. Again, so it is not underpowered, everything above this height would still receive damage, but not be killed.
In short:
3-4 feet above ground players are still killed. Above this height players receive damage but are not killed. I agree with a fair trade-off, so still increase its damaging radius by 2-2.5 feet.
• I understand the frustration. I feel it many times, but I don't think you can rid the aerial damage completely otherwise it's a completely nerfed super. Increasing the ground damage isn't a fair trade off as it kills everything on the ground anyway... The aerial damage should be nerfed, but not eliminated. You should survive if you jump but have your health should be next to nothing.

      • No. Just no. Then no super for a Titan is useful for PvP. Defender gets killed by every super. Then now all that needed to dodge a super is jump. No. If you can manage to smash the ground with incredible force, with it being infused with lighting, people above you will be injured so no.

      • Are you kidding? That would make FoH even less useful than it already is. That super would be soooo easy to dodge, especially when you compare it to either Hunter super or the nova bomb. Look, I know it's annoying to have your plans foiled by a FoH, but it really is the most under powered of all the "attack" supers (both Hunter supers and nova bomb). Hunters can easily get multiple kills, and nova bomb has a bigger blast radius (annihilate), does AoE damage (vortex), and be split into 3 to cover a large area (shatter), and can be thrown straight across the map (lance). Why everyone believe FoH needs a nerf is beyond me.

      • I don't agree, the bladedancer has more aim assist than anything else in gaming, and will insta kill someone that's behind you 20 feet in the air, plus you can move, golden gun allows up to four mobile shots. Sunsinger is a moveable super with all it's perks, nova bomb is a throwable nuke. The ward of dawn is an immobile bubble, that can be destroyed by nearly all supers, and those that can't still have a fair chance entering the bubble. The striker is a relatively small bubble of damage, if any supers need a nerf, it's the hunters.

      • Lets take auto aim of bladedancer and golden gun, nova bomb should only explode in a flat line and sunsinger should not be able to one melee us, also while we are at it enemies should be able to shoot though ward of dawn but the titan cant shoot out

            • I'm not for it persoanlly. Nova bomb hits the ground, I doe in the air. Blade dancer runs in, I jump, and like a magnet he darts right at me. Golden gun can hit you from across the map. The super doesn't really need to be changed, that's my thought. All supers have something that makes th "cheap" and have a drawback that makes them shitty. That's just how it goes.

            • I think maybe if you double jump you should survive. It does have a ridiculous 'height' considering it's a ground smash :P I do think if you get caught in a Titan's Death from Above animation it should still kill you though.

              • This would put a serious disadvantage compared to Nova Bomb and Golden Gun. It's like saying that if Nova Bomb hits the ground it should only kill those standing on the ground nearby. Or if someone using GG is jumping while shooting, anybody standing on the ground should be immune to it. I believe someone stated on another forum that the FoH animation shows a bolt of lightning striking from the sky/ceiling which is why people get hit in the air.

Did we just go back to October of 2014? Why the sudden increase in all the crybaby posts about FoH? I guess this will happen every time Iron Banner comes around.
