Had an idea for a possibly unique exotic. Two pistols: Grim and Reaper. Grim will be a Sidearm and is equipped as a Special weapon and Reaper is a hand cannon that's equipped in the Primary slot. When both weapons are equipped, they replace the Heavy slot as a dual weapon. ADS is replaced as a trigger for the left weapon--needless to say, you cannot aim down the sights. On to their perks/stats:
Grim
low impact, high rate of fire, 14 rounds per mag
Perk Depressed Presence: apply 1 stack of Depression (slows movement speed and reload speed by 2%) per shot for 5 seconds, double stacks for precision hits. Max =10 stacks.
UPDATED-Perk 2 Plague of Depression: Enemies with Depression will spread Depression to nearby units equal to a third of their stacks.
Reaper
high impact, medium rate of fire, 5 rounds per mag
Perk Collector of Souls: The Reaper consumes souls for each kill it commits--2 souls for Guardian kills. At 10 stacks, the next shot will unleash the souls (consuming all rounds left in clip) with an explosive impact causing high void damage.
Perk 2 Death For All: IF Reaper hits a target (or multiple targets) with stacks of Depression, it will consume all Depression and turn into Souls.
So for example, Reaper has 10 stacks and fires on to 2 enemies. 1 enemy has 6 stacks of Depression and the other has 4. Both get hit, the Reaper consumes these stacks and turns them into 10 Soul stacks. So literally, it's next shot (after reload) will be another explosive round (consuming all rounds though). You can just keep this chain going, but of course, would not be that easy especially in pvp, but can be very effective with skill and practice.
If a heavy ammo box is picked up, it will give the Reaper max soul stacks for its next shot.
As for obtaining them, each would have it's own exotic bounty. So you have to obtain them individually.
Let me know what you think. Of course, some balancing would probably be needed--such as 2 stacks of souls for killing elites--but I believe they could be tons of fun as a combo.
EDIT with equipping: They could also be Legendary that when equipped together they change the Heavy slot into their dual Exotic version. Another is leave them as Exotics but have them as a set where they can only be equipped together. A tagline such as "Grim Reaper Set" could be placed to show what set they are a part of. This could even open doors for other Exotic sets of gear in the future.
PLEASE LIKE AND BUMP
p.s.- sorry if it seems complex. I prefer more complex mechanics because it has a tendency to open doors for more potential and unique play.

You play too much LoL.

This is heavily thought out and probably the most creative one I've seen. Really cool but i sadly don't think theyd take it cause the mechanics sound so complicated (at least to me) that there'd be a lot of kinks. Keep dreaming up this cool stuff though because i enjoyed your thought process and creativity. Feel free to ignore my disbelief _xD

Why does sound like something I would find in Borderlands with all the stacking/destacking.
-
Please go work for Bungie, this is just the kind of thinking this game needs.

Edited by ImTooHungover: 7/4/2015 4:56:49 AMUPDATE: added "plague of depression" perk. I realized that trying to consume stacks and create possible chain explosive shots isnt useful unless you shot an enemy multiple times to begin with. So it kind of makes the Reaper perk "Death to All" useless except vs bosses. At this point, you can shoot an enemy a few times and gain a bonus if they group up.

Dual wielding is such a bad idea
-
-
Make them legendary individually and exotic together. That way you don't have to worry about having more than one exotic. Great idea though!
-
Shut up and take my money!
-
-
I would throw my money at the screen for this :0

This is such a great idea!! Bungie get on this!!!!
-
this is pretty cool
-
One problem can't have two exotics equipped at the same time
-
Too bad no one at bungie is half as creative as you.
