You're having a laugh. What is it with Activision and their pricing structure? They -blam!- their customers with the CoD franchise i.e. games & DLC, and now the same with Destiny.
Using the line that it isn't DLC but a whole new game? Tell me, apart from the obvious, what is the difference between DLC & a whole new game? Seriously, I want to know. £40 is the norm, or thereabouts, for a brand new game where they need to recoup initial dev costs, packaging, printing etc. So how is £40 for "not DLC" justifiable when 'tweaking" code is basically all that's happening.
Hell, they are forcing the dollar for pound sterling price too ffs.
And for all you ignorant fanboys with bungieitis, don't reply. This is an honest question requiring mature input and not the usual drivel of "you don't like it don't buy/ play it and gtfo OUR forums cos Destiny is the greatest thing since the last great thing and we refuse to have ANYBODY point out issues with our game".

Bump so that the thieving yanks can get there ninjas in here and pass on the message that the uk thinks your all a bunch of thieving -blam!-s
-
They can shove there dlc because it's just that and definately not worth full game price
-
I don't see why Bungievision doesn't change the price for the DLC in other countries considering the currency exchange rates. What we pay $40 here for in the States amounts to around $50 or so in the UK.
-
I remember getting the dlc dragonborn on skyrim and it costing 10 $ and has more storyline then this hole game. Bunkie has set the tone for gaming industries to start sucking the money out of us. And people are just feeding into. I will not be buying the taken king unless the price changes. -blam!- their pricing and -blam!- the dude who was saying we should buy the 80 $ edition for the extra stuff. Can I get some wine and some food before deliverance my ass?
-
It's discusting. It's one new destination. 10 pound away from full game asking price, original came with four!
-
Regardless of exchange rates, the cost of TTK, whether that be pound sterling, US dollars or AU dollars is too much. I believe DLC should NOT come anywhere close to the cost of a full, brand new title. Just wrong.
-
$63 = $40 because pounds are foreign to Luke Smith.
-
Yeah I agree exchange rates are screwed, if I remember in Australia its $40 (not entirely sure) Doesn't really matter, quit this game until (if ever) things are improved
-
And yet Bungie will continue to rip you off in droves until the masses finally stop buying the game. Dont buy it, I am not going to bother. I am not a fan of this game and thought that the initial release was not my style of gaming.
-
Don't buy it I'm not. I would if it was a decent price but £40 hahaha, probably worth £20 tops and that's being generous.
-
Well it's not like your spending any $$ on toothpaste or dentists or refrigeration for your beer
-
Your dumb look at deejs new post about ttk read the entire thing he even says " it's not a dlc its it own game." And besides just sell your 360 theirs your money back now go but leg ed
-
Agreed how dare they give 40 quid off to new players we should get a refund for the last two dlcs if new people get it free. Where our 40 quid of free stuff?

Edited by AshKor: 7/4/2015 11:59:51 AMDo the maths. I bought Destiny on release and that cost me £45. Then two DLC which cost £35. £80 total. BUT we get a free shader. Yaaaayyyy! Now the special edition is £80 (from memory). That's £40 for the game (still retails at that price) & £40 for TTK. So that makes the previous 2 DLC FREE. Plus, if you buy this, you get loadsa free shit too. THE ABOVE IS HOW BUNGIE ARE LOOKING AFTER THEIR YEAR ONE GAMERS. Nonsense. As with everything, e.g. Sky, BT etc., it is only about getting new blood in. New customers are more attractive to them financially. They know the game isn't strong enough to last the full life of their plan simply because the model is built around drawing in new gamers and NOT maintaining the current fanbase (other than those idiots who seem unable to see past the rhetoric). If some of the current fanbase leaves, their model will account for that.

Well put and compliments to OP who understands it's ACTIVISION that sets the prices.

Best way to actually bring change is not to buy it. Don't preorder. Don't give them a single penny. Guarantee you once they see that no one is buying their product they will change prices and flush out updates. But you know no one is going to listen lol
-
Not from me, done with being ripped off

I think you lot are a minority

Actriviaions pricing is usually ok with COD, The dlc on cod is pretty good and the stupid extras for how you look is optional so don't even buy that. And also the devs for cod have been pretty good about fixin issues espessialy treyarch. Bungie however has been too greedy with everything and lazy about fixing issues or responding about them. I will never buy another bungie product.
-
What's wrong with pointing out you are free to make your own decision on whether to buy or not? Vote with your wallet. If so many feel as you do Activision will get the message.
-
Bungie seem to be confused by the notion of exchange rates
-
The price is that high because most here are sheep. Sorry, but that's the truth. They know you will buy it. Blood Dragon was a new game and it was $15. Bet it is two or three times bigger than this first "expansion". And it was Ubisoft. The thing is if they had price it $40 they knew it would probably had made people angry and it wouldn't have sold or be praised as well as it was. That's the difference here. Bungievision can count on their sheep to buy it at whatever price. Luke Smith's interview and his "apology" is proof of that.
-
Agreed, it's ridiculous
