Destiny's $20 collectors edition content scam
Now I know what you all are probably saying no it's not they made it so you don't have to rebuy the game and dlc. But why would they even announce that the collectors edition to come with if they knew people would be unhappy with that destiny is all about collecting cool and new things right so they purposely announce this so they can actually tell you you can buy it for $20 which is the price for either of the dlc's right now which came with new missions, weapons, armor, exotics and a raid and they want us to pay $20 for 3 emotes and a shader and emblem. If that doesn't sound bad enough the collectors edition comes with the game and all 3 dlc's for only $80 the taken king is half of that the expansion is $35 and the collectors content is $20 and the game is $60 so they are practically just giving you the game with free dlc for the original price plus the collectors content in which they should of just came out with this at launch of the game and they would of never been badgered about not giving us a complete game I think most could agree that would of rather gotten all this content and wait almost a year for but instead they decided to push a game out to consumers before it is even fully ready and now they are squeezing all the money out of they can because they know they are pushing their luck with this. Now if your are still reading all this I love destiny I can't get enough of it but now it just feels like a big scam I'm not going to buy collectors and I hope you guys won't either and I really hope bungie understands that this is really not ok to do because if we don't speak up now nothing is stopping the next destiny to come out will be just like this one with a short game and only real good content in dlc you have to pay for in which you could have boughten a new game with. And to all the trolls and haters if don't like/care then maybe you shouldn't have into this so far and to all who do care we need to speak up more other than falling for a scam with collectors edition and getting them to sell it to us for an over priced dlc that really at best is $5.

no one has to buy it so get over it. seriously dont get why everyone is so pissed. there are games with higher micro transactions then this. also its just 3 shaders, class items and 3 emotes. thats not exactly game changing game breaking stuff there people. and no just cause there is exp bonus but still not game breaking. if u dont want to fork out 20 dollars then dont but it. simple as that. same with the red bull crap. its not a big deal since that quest will be available everywhere next year. GET OVER IT PEOPLE

I have Destiny, Expansion 1 & 2. I preorder the Collector's edition and I am trading in my original Destiny towards it. But, if the Taken King is a disappointment...I am finished with Destiny for good!

6 RepliesBeen thinking about this pricing issue.... I will end up paying $210 Aussie for Destiny plus three expansion packs in a 12 month period. That about $17 month. I would be paying the same amount for other leading MMOs. Interesting.

Dude, that is one ugly warlock. As for the pricing issue, well if you enjoy playing Destiny you've basically have two choices ante up the dough or pass and move to something else. I'm not trolling, but shooting you the straight skimmy on the facts. Bungie/Activision sold a ton of Destiny and having several hundred people defect due to pricing won't break their backs or the bank account. Again, you and I have a choice. Personally I'm not pre-ordering anything till we get a lot and I mean a lot more info. If none if forthcoming I can easily wait till after the release, a week or two after the fact won't kill me.

Honestly I wouldn't put it past Bungivision to have the "20.00 for gear plan" all along. They release false information to public (must buy new game) while all along they were going to sell originally for 20 bucks. This makes some people feel like they did us some favor. With the research they did on player habits/addiction it's right up there ally. This company better watch out messing with long time customers like this.

Don't buy the $20 dollar rip off. Bungie thinks this is ok. Its not as items contained at best worth $5 maybe... $10 but not really.
