Hey guardians,
I was running around the crucible today trying out some of the other exotics I've got lying around for a bit of fun, generally getting cleaned up by thorn and TLW. Realised pretty quickly my hard light is taking a reserve spot in my armoury if I plan on winning. Got me thinking about what could change it up so people might use the others.
Thorn (as far as I know) is the only exotic that has a follow on effect, keeping a good player out of the fight while they get their health back up or risk falling quickly to that next heavy shot. TLW is a super fast killer. Most other exotics kinda seem to compete on that path too - what kills the quickest.
Just a thought, but what if the other exotics had a more tactical effect to? such as the Hard Light slowly building up a blinding effect on consecutive hits, Invective maybe a burning short range fireblast shot of sorts, something reminiscent of the shotgun from metal slug for example. Just thinking more along the lines of what could get these exotics back into the fight in a more tactical and interesting way, without them simply being a time-to-kill off.
What grand ideas can you think of? Rather than nerf them, what creative ways could they be improved? Sound off!
