Bungie, quit teasing...it's causing problems

Stop all of this nonsense on the forums. In reading these posts over the last few days, it seems the biggest frustration comes from the players not knowing what to really expect. I suggest just telling us what is in The Taken King. Provide a list of the things you know will be available and, if you can sneak more in afterwards, there can be icing on top. Here's how I see it: Problem: People are complaining about the pricing of TTK Solution: Tell us exactly what's in it so that we can decide. Dragging it out will only keep the complaints coming because some will justify their argument by saying that we don't know it all yet and others will justify their side by saying there isn't much more coming. If it's a solid list, informed decisions can be made and the complaints should lessen. Problem: Bonuses worth the pricetag? Solution: Quit dangling the carrot and tell us what's coming. We know you have more planned. You've mentioned it more than once. Lay out the final plans and let people decide whether or not they want to preorder the bonus items. Again, tell us what is a certainty and we'll be happy to know what it is. Should you ninja more in, then you just did the community a solid and we'd be even happier. As a side note, we get that you are in a partnership with a company that does silly marketing gimmicks. Whether we like it or not, we're going to have to deal with that stuff. I would suggest, though, that your marketing teams become more creative and not do the same exact stuff that's been done in the past. Perhaps, in an update, there could be a new patrol mission that leads you to an area that has a code written on the wall by some poor sap that got killed by the vex. We input that code and, if it's before a particular real life date, we unlock some "thank you" item or ghost shell as a way to show appreciation to your guardians for their exploration and community. Just a thought. Random rant/suggestion over. Thanks for reading.

  • The problem is Bungie. They are not involved with this community, period. Look around the boards...they are no where to be seen. Why? Because that's just business as usual. Forget the pricing of DLC's. It's an incomplete game for one--that's the big issue with content. But the community at large is mad about Bungie not taking this community seriously and not taking a proactive approach to managing it. They act before they listen. Then people get mad as hell. It's so funny how out of touch they are...they say "actions speak louder than words" yet people on these boards have been telling them what was wrong and what needs to change for so long that had they taken the time to have a proactive conversation with people on here, one little slip up in an interview with [i]Eurogamer[/i] wouldn't have been a big deal.

    Novel Idea... encompass the contents so players can determine the value. Last two dlc's didn't meet the expectations of the player base.. many are waiting for the contents to plunk down the purchase this time around. # strikes Raid? Depth of storyline I think part of the issue right now and why it has blown up is that players are skeptical of the quality and depth of each dlc to date and lack of fulfillment of raids, etc. So Bungie put on a little demo and a video clip to announce the dlc, didn't publish the contents of the actual code and tied a cumbersome pricing structure to it. Recipe for backlash. Bungie cannot rest upon days gone past any longer as they have had two dlc rollouts with issues tied to them. A video and some demo plays, yet keeping the actual content secret isn't going to fly this time. Yes it will impact the hype buildup... but two dlc's meet with some disappointment is the underlying root of the problem.. this past week was just gasoline and a match.
