Solo Flawless Raider: Guide

(EDIT - added vids of earlier sections) MINIMIZE RISK Took me about a day to put this together. Have been able to solo each section with most of my characters, but it ended up being the titan defender that had the most risk free end-to-end run. I practiced each section until I could do it at least 4 times out of 5. Crota was the only bit that was a bit riskier but I worked out a decent way. See vid. Set up: Max agility all the way through. Alternate between Armour and Blessing of Light a few times. Spike grenade throughout. War machine, Bastion, Untouchable throughout. Pre Abyss: MIDA Black Hammer Song of Ir Yut - pop a heavy HOS14 Jump = increased control Let your super charge before starting. Abyss - Very easy, success = 95% RUN. As soon as you land. RUN. Going quick stops the exploders getting in position. The first three lamps are the only hard bits to get past if you wait. Pop a bubble at third lamp, smash thralls. Then run, pause at lamp if you need, run Top of first rise = full mag of MG down the hill to recharge super Switch back to MIDA, run, lamp, run Super if you need. Usually about once. In the bubble reload the MG (will be quick from the war machine perk) use a spike grenade from time to time to clear your tail. Top of second rise = pause to lower weight and another clip of MG Run past the last couple of lamps. super on the plate, smash thralls Jump on the rock, BH the Ogre. Done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWFUd7WHglo Bridge - Very easy, success = 95% Change jump to Increased height and swordbreaker Activate the plate, shotgun the red dude, nick his sword, fly across gap as per 1,000,000 tutorial vids Change to Fatebringer, Black Hammer and GHorn Change to blessing of light and increased control (no more set up changes rest of run) Hiding behind the lamp/pillar, shoot thralls, then jump up to Ghorn Ogres and land safely behind pillar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiBJ0zN6Jjs Corridor - if you die here question yourself, seriously BH first shrieker, run away like a girl shoot some thralls, run along a bit, pop bubble, Ghorn second shrieker, hide in nice safe bubble Jump lots to the end https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qf7PhkLfx_g&spfreload=10 Ir Yut - Tricky, success = 80% Have 7 Ghorn + less than 2 minutes cooldown on synth I switched to WOC, but could stick with FB Run in, don't jump, run up left stairs and you should get behind the Knight upstairs without agro. 2 x Ghorn at the witch. SHOOT EARLY, need to hit her quick or she starts waving around and that can end your run. Strafe right and 1 GHorn into Shrieker. Starting to get hectic in there and just outside so be aware of what's around you. Lots of jumping to get out (for me this is the only risky bit, practice this first witch and shreiker) Over on the other (quieter) side - Ghorn the witch twice, again - SHOOT EARLY. DO NOT TRY AND GET THE SHRIEKER. Get straight out, running the long way around the column. This just adds risk for no gain, you get swamped inside here by a couple of knights. Outside, BH the two knights and the shrieker, run away and hide. Pop a heavy. Chill. Normally have a good 20-40 secs before she starts her shiz. take pop shots at ads if you want but doesn't gain much. When Thralls start coming, she's about to start, get ready to run in. DON'T GO TOO FAR IN, just in the joining corridor bit is fine. Pop your bubble, jump out and GHorn. Done Mop up ads - takes FOREVER. I switch to ruin wings + aeroplane hat for heavy (helpful for Crota) GET THEM ALL - about 50% of the time I get one knight stuck over on Crota's platform, if you leave him he can ruin your run https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qL8V5WaJwY CROTA - tricky, again I got it to about 80% success. See vid for my strat. MINIMIZE RISK Bait the sb back to the Ogre room, don't try to do anything fast, or surrounded by thralls, bring him to ground you control Keep his health low until Crota moves to the platform above you to the right. Kill sb, jump straight up in the corner, (You need the raid boots with agility perk to make the jump, or change your setup to increased height) drop sword (hint, HOLD triangle to go straight to GHorn in one) 2 x in his face, start running and pick up the sword as soon as you fire the 2nd R1 (close the gap, very quick) 3 x R2 if you have time (It takes EXACTLY 4 runs of R1 R2 R2 to get him down, which is EASY, but if i can get the extra R2 in I do, as sometimes the sword goes) Get out of there, jump and swing away high and slightly back towards the centre, I found this stops him instasmashing you (if you go straight back he squashes you 50% of the time) Move in a bit, drop sword, jump up while reloading to avoid lasers, repeat 2 x ghorm and smash THE OGRES COME NOW (which is earlier than 'normal' - but this is actually good) Get in position, get them as they come out of the towers. Use remaining ghorns and bhammer to kill them. You now have loads of time and perfect safety to take a synth, go bait the sb again, and repeat. no rush, minimum risks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tn_ZVk_xpo8 TL:DR = Don't take risks, take your time, recharge heavy.

This post inspired me to get off my arse and finally give it a shot. Took two failures before landing it. Gunslinger Hunter Lamps - no probs thanks to Don't Touch Me gauntlets. *Note: Hunter has recently been restarted and I only have as far as first double jump upgraded in my Bladedancer subclass - hence running Gunslinger throughout. Just ran the entire Lamps run with a trip mine grenade every once in a while until lamp 12. Ran around the plate lamp with about 20 thrall trying to sushimi me to shed the weight of darkness, hopped onto the rock to the left of the bridge entrance, equipped Blackhammer, ogre down! Bridge - trip mine grenade to swordbearer' forehead, a clip from the Mida and a throwing knife, grab sword, run to vertical structure on edge of ledge at the righthand side Annihilator totum, triple jump (quadruple jump really) with Bones of Eao on, swipe swipe swipe swipe swipe swipe swipe and land on bridge platform, sprint at gatekeeper, R2 R2 R2, drop sword and cover behind left lantern. Pop out with Fatebringer either side (not too much, don't want the attention of the boomers or wizards) and Firefly a crapload of thrall, use trip mine nades to attach to upright on left of lantern to clear out thrall tight to the back of the lantern. Ogres spawn, load the Blackhammer. Take out the ogre to the left with snipes. Dance to see where wizard and other ogre are. Equip rocket launcher. Jump and quick scope trackers to despatch last ogre. Shrieker corridor - Khepri's Sting to allow for invisibility after rocket to second shrieker. launch a rocket immediately, retreat (or advance in reverse) back out the door. Once death blast has gone it's time to clear some trash and make space. Lob an incendiary nade up the middle track, advance a bit, crouch and get another rocket off sharpish then you go invis, then leg it like a lunatic but be sure to avoid cursed thrall, then drop down into Ir Yút's sweat puddle. Deathsinger - Celestial Nighthawk (for obvious reasons) VoC and Gjallarhorn. *make sure to have 7 rockets loaded and a synth at less than two minutes. Run out and jump over left side knight, blast up the stairs, jump the boomer exiting the tower if need be, lap the rotating column, avoid the boomer again, jump to tower, lap the column, line up Wizard.. 2 rockets. Hop onto bridge whilst reloading, run and jump your way into shrieker room, triple jump and fire rocket at peak of jump, get out of there and head to the other side where it's a repeat prescription. Once that shrieker is blitzed, fire any surplus rockets at enemies inside, use a synth and fire around 4 rockets at knights and acolytes inside. As soon as your ready (no need to wait for lithurgy - I normally beat this bit before she even starts the countdown) activate GG, square your 1 shot at her.. fire a rocket, get out of there, clear all the trash - equip Icebreaker and deplete all ammo for primary and heavy, use a tower as a vantage point, kill as many acolytes with IB as possible - sooooooo much purple ammo.. It's beautiful! Crota - same set up as Deathsinger with the exception of Fatebringer rather than VoC. Clear rooms either side of crystal, ensure everything is loaded, make your way to the chalice. Hop up onto the block, activate GG, destroy swordbearer, grab sword, head to right rock, fire two Gjallarhorns at Croty, double jump as soon as you grab sword again, 3 x R2 and scarper, repeat once more, go to right side ogre room. Kill thrall with Fatebringer to replenish GG, attract swordbearer but keep an eye on Crota (he has about 40 seconds of rest on the spot outside the crystal tower) and as soon as he moves away activate GG, take out swordbearer as before and rinse it/repeat it. If Crota survives, then it's time to mush ogres. Use doorway in ogre room to avoid the one spawning in there. As they head around column and towards the doorway, drop down with Blackhammer ready, throw grenade, snipe as soon as the ogre has turned to face you. Now jump in doorway to attract attention of other ogre, snipe in same way as soon as it's clear. Sweep for heavy ammo or use another synth (whatever is easiest as it's the last one you'll need) then ready the GG and Gjallarhorn, as soon as swordbearer spawns.. kill him with GG, grab sword and head for the rock ( don't worry, Crota will stay there for long enough to finish the job as long as you didn't take too long with ogres and swordbearer. 2 rockets at Crota, 1 or 2 hits.... DONE!!

        • I manage to get flawless raider solo on my hunter. Only the second time ever I had managed to kill Crota on my hunter and I went flawless :) that was without a gally. I used a jolders hammer, throwing knife and a tripmine to drop his shield bit of a dodgy combo but my god does it feel better than just firing 2 rockets at him. Plus you can time it perfectly so you are slamming him just as he kneels for maximum damage every sword

Warlock: Always have max agility with Crota boots. Use radiant skin if you run Sunsinger. Abyss; Equip sun breakers (and use 2 solar grenades) and wait for sure before you start running. Pop super and throw grenades on the first 2 lamps as you run through them. Get to the third lamp and put another solar grenade on it (stand in the solar grenades). Also have flame shield equipped and just keep running lamp to lamp, varying between using your melee, grenade, weapons if it's pretty clear, and your super if in dire need. Once you get to the plate put a grenade on the plate and stand in it until the lamp blows up then jump on the Rock and snipe the ogre. *or just do all of this part with voidwalker blink (Mida/icebreaker for agility) and cheese this part. Bridge; use HoPF, Claws, or Ram for the rest. Start the plate and kill the swordbearer. Jump across the bridge (tutorials on YouTube) i usually do the one where I swipe to the right side and jump up the rocks, it's considered harder but I'm better at it. Then get behind the left lamp and start killing things with your primary and grenades. Once ogres come out just snipe them with icebreaker, no reason to risk with rockets. Hallway; Snipe the first shreiker and run away. Then move on a bit and snipe the other one (or use a rocket) and run. Then run and jump through the hallway. Deathsinger; Equip a solar grenade and throw 2 grenades up at the crystal underneath before you even start this part. When damage numbers come up that means you pulled out the Wizards already. Re equip better grenades (firebolt or fusion, firebolt can't kill yourself with) Synth if you have no rockets, but if you have any at all, don't synth. Go out (don't jump by the Knights just run by them) and you'll find each wizard around the opening of the boomer towers but underneath. Snipe/grenade/shotgun the left wizard, then run in and rocket the left shreiker. Run to the other side and kill the wizard with anything then rocket the right shreiker. Run out and synth if you need to. Quickly clear the Knights and acolytes on the right side and slowly move into ir Yut, snipe or shoot her every once in a while when clearing adds. Then when the timer starts or you cleared the adds start rocketing and sniping her. Once killed run out to the boomer tower. Kill EVERY add, if you don't they will be there for Crota. Just take your time and make sure to clear everything, don't stand near the crystal until you are ready. Crota; Do the heavy ammo glitch, or synth and wait until your other synth is almost ready. After the glitch (or before if using synths) equip a shotgun (preferably fast RoF like found verdict), a scout/Handcannon, and a Gjallahorn. If you don't have a Gjally you can do the fusion grenade method (on YouTube) which is much harder but doable. Kill every add in the crystal room and run out from the left side. Run straight to the chalice and stand on that pedestal (pick up chalice). Grenade the swordbearer as he comes out and kill him with your shotgun. Pick up the sword and run to the right Rock. Stand towards the right side and drop the sword, fire 2 gjallys at Crota (hip fire, proximity will help) and take the sword and run up and get 3 hits in then run back to the rock. Reload and fire again. Try to get 3 more hits in but 2 is ok. Then get out of there and run back to the crystal room. (Only 10 hits on Crota is needed). Wait for Crota to move back to the middle them run out pop radiant skin and shotgun/grenade the swordbearer. Rinse and repeat the downing process and you should have just flawlessed Crota solo as a warlock! No Gjally, black hammer, icebreaker, or Fatebringer is needed. They just help.

        • This is amazing. I did it after 20 goes. If you don't have mida you can use ice breaker, it works very well.

I saw the thumbnail and it's a gjallarhorn. Then you went on to say "switch to fate bringer black hammer gjallarhorn" you can't just assume people have the best gear, what's the point in making a guide if the majority of the people can't do it after watching your video. Edit: since some people think it's easy to get the best gear in the game I'll leave this video here http://youtu.be/j7jvQscuVBo for everyone who doesn't have the best gear. This is a flawless solo guide pretty average gear.

Replying to bump this and so I can come back to it later. Can't wait to try out this strategy. I always have trouble flying over the bridge though, so I think I'll end up failing there a bunch before I get my flawless run.
