Fallen Guardian

Max7238 here. I'm preparing to write a fan-fic depicting a Fallen Captain who becomes a Guardian. Not a one-shot, either. Correct me if I'm wrong, since the lore is still a bit shallow, but can't Dregs become Kell over their lifetime? Using ether? And don't Servitors create that ether? And don't Dregs and Vandals carry ether sups? Therefore, couldn't a Fallen made into a Guardian steal enough to survive? Would it be something you'd all like to see? A Fallen placed in a fire team, at first struggling, making his way to being a Kell, etc? I ask, but I intend to write it regardless...

  • There have been several updates to the story. Another chapter should be done this evening. This'll be the last time I use this topic unless someone posts feedback.

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/11287088/1/ There's the first chapter. Next one will be longer and a lot less jumping around. I hate world-building, so I sorta shoe-horned a ton in...

  • Shortly into my grimoire readings, I've hit a problem. The Fallen alphabet I have must me at least partially incomplete, or I haven't spent enough time with it. The cards under the Fallen Hunted have Fallen writing on them I can't translate. That could be either because they are actual Fallen words, or because I'm reading them wrong...

    • In my opinion I think there is enough ground for you to make a great story but before you start you need to read all the lore and the facts so that nothing seems out of place. But in the end it would be really easy to make a good story because there aren't many or any besides that of the grimoire.

    • Again, as I've read, the problem with the Fallen was not only that they turned on each other, as is their culture, but the Darkness consumed their home planet. They are called Fallen because they were once great, hence the nobility and great houses. They called the Darkness "the Whirlwind." It apparently completely destroyed the House of Rain. Our hero would have to be a traitor of the House of Devils, who, despite culture and upbringing, turned away from evil for whatever reason (as far as we know, Guardians cannot remember their past lives, and Exos who try can become stuck in memory loops). I slept on it and realized there is grounds for at least a short story already, given that Devils now has no Prime, Variks exists to us, and the Vanguard is full of us oddballs...

Phone double-posted... Guess I can edit and say I'm going to work on a name for him today. I wanna base it more around how it would look with their letters (as we know them) than sound alone...

    • I personally don't think he traveller would ever touch a fallen. Purely because in the lore the traveler visited them first and bestowed it's light upon them... And they all killed each other in the process scattering their race. Hence why they are dubbed "the fallen"

From what I picked up over the past while engrossing in the lore (and starting a short story on the a character who becomes a Guardian); I've found that while it seems unlikely you always have to find a way to tie in how the traveler found the captain "worth of the light" as it were, seeing as the traveler seems to send Ghosts after departed life it seems redeemable. As all Guardians seem to have been resurrected through the lore, making them name akin to the not so subtle reference Guardian Angel, but I digress, anyways as long as you can find a worthwhile reason they became a Guardian should be fine, you could even have them found by a damaged half-dying ghost, struggling to sustain itself so it resurrects the Captain in a sort of symbiotic effort to sustain itself. Hope some of this helps. :) If you ever get it worked on I'd like to read it.
