Khepri's Sting Facts (hunter exotic)
These new Gauntlets come with two nice perks, but, after testing yesterday, here is some information that is not obvious at first glance.
STATED PERKS:
Faster reload speed with primary weapons.
Reduces melee cooldown every time you pick up an orb of light.
Gain invisibility after crouching in place for a short time. Melee attacking an enemy from behind deals 4x damage while invisible.

Obvious facts here.
-You can replace a perk on the bladedancer tree.
-You can one-hit melee guardians in crucible.
But here are some interesting ones I found.
-It takes about 5 seconds to go invisible and that invisibility lasts 6 seconds on gunslinger. However, will stack with shadowjack on bladedancer and will last 10 seconds. -You can go invisible while golden gun is active and have 75% of the super time left to use it.
-If an enemy survives the 4x damage- the attack will do damage over time. Like the thorn.
-In PvP, while I was invisible, I knifed a guardian in the front and I dealed damage over time as well. I noticed it lasted longer than thorn and left them with about 30% of health. EDIT: Another guardian verified it was even less than that.
-Edit: The 4x damage does NOT work with a throwing knife because you become visible when it leaves your hand.
Edit: There is a small cooldown (7-10sec) for the invisibility. You can't go invis after becoming visible right away.
If I notice anything else- I'll add it. I just found the DoT damage interesting.

And the DoT does stack with gunslingers incendiary blade making it a OhK if the knife hits the head

Golden gun can do DoT if shot from behind. It is possible to perma invisible by switching gloves off and on in bladedancer (must be running increased invisibility duration and crouch to invis)

I find scetherian bloom goes well with it.

2 RepliesEdited by JHarv: 6/21/2015 7:44:16 AMyes, lets all put our gun skill away, crouch, stealth, and run up to someone hoping that in the few seconds we get to run up to them, they a) don't see us in stealth, b) don't see us when stealth breaks early, all so we can get a 1-shot in from melee range. if you're going to be using stealth as a way to sneak up on people, why would it be for a backstab? why not just stealth with the standard bladedancer talents and shotgun them for a guaranteed 1 shot just the same, without the added trouble of wearing a hideous, pointless exotic piece?

DOT happens when your invisible even a forward stab. Your get the multiplier if you hit from the back. DOT happens after second hit when you blink strike, this works very well.

7 RepliesWith them equipped, if you backstab someone while not invisible, but with escape artist, with it register as an invisible backstab? In other words does escape artist proc before or after the damage is registered?

1 ReplyBeen playing crucible all weekend for IB rank 5 and I use Khepri's Sting. These gauntlets might not be the best ever exotic or as OP as some, but they are incredibly fun. great for PvE as well with the hungering blade option. I have done loads of poisoning kills in the crucible, it's pretty fun, and requires a fair bit of skill. I haven't seen a single other person use these in like 35 or so IB games, so can't be that popular. In contrast, I see the same exotics most of the time now, Warlocks with Ram is the main one. I think it's fun to try something different rather than zone in on the obvious best possible stuff, Ram, Thorn etc.

How to backstab? Cause they see you anyway. Never got a chance to backstab in pvp. Melee from hunter is underpowerd, why the hell not from the front. Titan and warlock can one hit melee. Its useless in pvp

It doesn't work with the sword on Crota.[/b] Here's how to get near infinite stealth with it: [i]Khepri's Sting's Stalker perk does not actually replace the Bladedancer's Stalker perk even though it's a carbon copy. What this means is that with the Stalker perk and this exotic on you at the same time will activate Stealth from both the exotic arms and your own stalker perk. They both go on the 10 second cooldown. So how can we make use of this knowledge? Easy. First you select the Hungering Blade or Encore, then with Khepri's Sting equipped you crouch and turn invisible, stand up and go to your menu and select the Stalker perk. Remember that both stealth perks have their own cooldown timers? They are no longer synchronized with each other so now after the first stealth runs out you can immediately crouch for the stealth that your Stalker perk provides and when that runs out you can stealth again with the stealth that Khepri's Sting provides and so on and on until you reset both the cooldowns when you're not using stealth for a time. [/i] I would also suggest that you use Escape Artist for even more stealth, but don't use it for pvp because using blink strike with Escape artist while already invisible will take you out of stealth and waste your Escape artist because it won't put you back into stealth. 2 Repliescan you go invis, shoot something from behind for the 4x damage modifier, but also be wearing the nighthawk for the 6x modifier and get like 24x modifier lol? That would be awesome as hell.
