Why is it so damn hard to get etheric light
Why is it that it is so difficult for a pve player to get etheric light, I despise PvP it's dominated by one gun and lag switchers, it isn't any fun to empty an entire mag into a person and not even make a dent in their shields, the PoE is damn near impossible unless it is a group of 34's that don't need the etheric light, c'Mon bungie pull your head out of your asses and pay attention, the mechanics in the game are far too difficult for the rewards you get, maybe ease back on it a bit. I know there are gonna be some haters out there looking to troll so keep your opinions to yourself unless you have something constructive to say.

Get 8 wins in trials on 3 char. That's 6 light, run nightfall 3 times, that's 3 chances for it. Run 34 and 35 on each character, that's 6 more. I feel like I'm forgetting something(I'm not factoring in iron banner on purpose)

3 RepliesI'm so tired with all these posts crying about how things are too hard, the 34 isn't hard sometimes it's even easier than the 32, also all of this I don't play pvp/pve side of the game so why do I only have half the stuff? Wake up!

2 RepliesIt is not entirely hard, but you do have to invest more time than is acceptable. Trials drops it but is hard due to hardcore pvpers or thenlag itself, prison of elders drops in its higher difficulties but it takes too long and it gets tedious real fast plus no checkpoints so meh. They said nightfalls will drop etheric light but at least for me it never had, and ive been the nightfalls on my 3 characters since HOW launch.

1 ReplyHere's another way...I know it might be a small chance. But this morning I went and got the package from variks that he gives you every Tuesday. I hit level 3 last Friday. Anyway, got an etheric light from that this morning.

I suck at PVP, still got my 6 from Iron Banner. POE you need to wait for an easy 34, some bosses are easier than others. Wait for one with burns that play to your advantage and goggle the boss before playing...Web is full of tips/tricks.

I think it is to easy I have upgraded so much stuff all bog gear,gun crota gear, most guns and a bunch of other stuff still have something like 20 of them and didn't but any for banner even thought I hit rank 5 on 3 characters

1 ReplyYou're right, EL is difficult to get for PvE players. I did IB and got 5 EL in total on my three characters, but hated doing it. Drop rate in nightfalls is extreme low (no chnace) and left is PoE 34 if you can find a decent group on LFG (good luck!). PoE 35 takes just too much time for the stupid rewards you get. So yeah, very difficult to get enough EL.

Iron banner is easy just a grinding process You can get 6 a week from PvE guaranteed You can get it from nightfall. Pvp players just add trials but if they have an additional set of skills that's fair isn't it?

1 ReplyYou act like lag switching runs rampant in Iron Banner. That's all I played last week and while I saw some bad connections, I highly doubt they were "lag switching." Everyone throws this term around too much, it's almost lost all meaning.

I thought same about crucible being dominated by one gun (thorn) but it's not I used last word and out gunned them almost every time also I did the thorn bounty during iron banner using atheons epilogue and word of crota and still found it quite easy...also I got lucky week before last and got 2 etheric lights on night falls one after other

the 34s are easy, NF drops it too. I havent played any trials and i have maxed everything i can think of........only duplicates left to do....meh

It's really not. Running the 32 and getting the armor piece for that week along with an ascended exotic will get you to 33. You can then run the 34 PoE which will get you 1 Ethiric getting you to 3.5. You can then run the PoE again on a second character to get a second Ethiric light getting you to 34. If you run the 35 on those same 2 characters, you sow have 4 Ethiric light allowing you to ditch the PoE armor or ascend 1-2 weapons. If you have 3 characters that's 6 Ethiric light per week plus any Nightfall rolls.
