The Lighthouse reward choosing
I made it to The Lighthouse on my first Trials Passage (lvl 33 team had good chemistry). But it was a pain, and I don't want to do it again. [i]We had to step on people[/i]. Yet I must do it again, because all I wanted was a solar hand cannon. But nope, I got an arc one. It looks at my Fatebringer with jealousy. I unlocked a new map, cutscene, and huge chest, but then RNG decided it's time to disappoint some more.
The chance of getting a solar hand cannon specifically is [b]1/12[/b]. I could get 12 flawless victories or more and still not have my true prize. [i]That is disheartening.[/i] [u]All that work, and RNG ruins the game AGAIN.[/u] If only the top players get into The Lighthouse, I think they deserve a bit better than RNG garbage.
[b]What do you think?[/b] I don't like the Trials of Osiris because getting the best loot requires you to deny other people's loot. The normal passage to 8 wins before 3 losses is reasonable and makes everyone a winner, but The Lighthouse is just ridiculous. If I have to do this every week, it will be a total pain DX
[b]Update:[/b] With 1036 votes, 29.5% agree with me, and 58.2% believe the rewards are fine. A significant number of people agree with me, but with these results I doubt anything will change. Thank you for your participation.

I think the way they have it is fine, but I would love getting a void scout rifle sometime soon. And from what I am hearing it has low rate of fire and high impact, sounds so good.

1 ReplyI think the loot at the light house should be the best. Keep the RNG but have a small selection of great prizes that you always get and not some silly non useful stuff that might be there currently.

1 ReplyShut up. You're guaranteed an elemental primary. Doing 35 prison only had a chance of granting an elemental primary. If you get to choose, then so should we.

4 RepliesIf it was that much of a pain then don't play it, sorry to come off as an ass but Trials was made for the best PVP players for work well together in a team. You can give yourself a big pat on the back for getting flawless though. The whole "I don't like the Trials of Osiris because getting the best loot requires you to deny other people's loot" is the point in Trails. There are several tiers of rewards and if you are the best, you get them all plus an extra chest on Mercury. If you are an average player, you might get the stone tier or the chest and if you aren't any good at PVP, you don't get anything. Not only does the rewards system give better rewards to people who did better than other people (which is how the world should work, not rewarding people for participation like giving medals to children who got last place in a race) but it also drops a whole other gear set and other rewards after each match randomly to the winners or losers. Everyone gets something, the winners get the best stuff. Trials is great, I know I'll be going for flawless every week. If I don't, oh well, I still get rewards and if I do, awesome.

2 RepliesI got the trash scout rifle, and it's arc. Absolutely useless, rate of fire is so slow.... But I'll get back to the lighthouse, definitely shouldn't be able to choose your rewards.

Exactly i have gotten there 5 times now and i have gotten the messenger 4 times. I got the summoner the other time. This is bull $hit its not fair it takes forever to get there and its alot of work. I even made sure to have the guns on me every time so i would lessen my chances to get the same gun and it didnt work. I dont care what burn it is just that i dont get the same gun over and over again.

Sure. Once you open the chest you should be able to choose the primary class and next the burn modifier. Then, while we're at it, you get to chose wether you would like the ship, because you didn't drop it during the matches. Upon leaving that screen, it lets you roll a dice until you roll a six, which is the number of etheric light you get. And finally, everyone gets a "free Gjallarhorn trading card" for their next nightfall. Choices, Choices for everyone !

1 ReplyI've yet to make it through the trials flawless, but I know of the rewards that lie within The Lighthouse. Here's what I think on this topic. The RNG loot is fine, and it's cool how you can get "Adept" primaries, but an idea I have is that there could be someone (maybe Brother Vance) who could have your Adept weapons reforged, which would change the elemental damage on them, but perks wouldn't change because Osiris weapons have standard perks.

1 ReplyI love denying people trials loot. Bring your "A" game next time. That's why trials is so much fun because of how competitive the game mode is man. This is the most fun/stressful time of my destiny gaming career haha. Makes you try super hard.

I like the rng so between everyone you can have an array of different weapons. Would be nice to guarantee no doubles though.

7 Replieswent 9-0 on my two hunters and got the scout with arc TWICE!!! - the chance must be around 1/15 * 1/15 ......wouldnt even be mad if one scout would have solar or void but this kinda sux....

Nah. Trials already gets a whole "You're Extra Special" area and the chance to get awesome loot. RNG f***s over plenty of people, and I don't see any "pick your own prize" options if I kill Skolas either. You don't even get a "I'm so badass look at me!" social area to run around in.
