One thing Dark Below did right that I hope House of Wolves does was the Bosses.
In vanilla Destiny, all the bosses appear without context. Who the hell's this Atheon guy? Who's this here Archon Priest? I dunno. Game's never mentioned 'em before.
Then in Dark Below we know we are up against Crota. The Sword of Crota told us that he killed tons of guardians. We've seen his Blades all over Earth, we know how far his reach is. We track down into this mysterious Hellmouth, something that we've wondered about for a long time. We fight through Crota's realm. We beat him in an anticlimactic firefight. But rewind. We face him. We've heard tales of the "Eater of Light." We've wielded his blade and slain his generals, and we're ready to face him. We hate him.
Omnigul is unique in that she appears outside of her strike. We've fought her since our adventures in Dark Below began. She always managed to escape. However, we finally ambush her in the Jovian Complex and she has no place to run. Our enemy Omnigul is finally defeated.
So, hopefully, the villains in House of Wolves will have context instead of "it's the enemy, shoot it!" Hopefully, we'll hate these antagonists.
