I foresee something coming with the launch of HOW. People are going to stop running Crota's End ... at least on hard mode. Why? It is so incredibly buggy, and so amazingly frustrating once a team reaches Crota, why would we bother?
If you're in my boat, lacking a black hammer because RNGsus is not feeling like answering your prayers, then you will continue to run it on normal until you get your weapon. Also, we can stil get exotics on normal mode. But hard mode? What am I trying to do, get the crux so I can take up vault space with a necrochasm?
Unlike VOG, Crota's end isn't really fun for me. Sprint the maze, cheese the bridge, sprint the tunnel, fight through hordes and hordes of damage sponges to get Deathsinger, then deal with the many glitches of the final Crota encounter. Since I can get my exotic drops and Black Hammer/Hunger of Crota on normal, why would I then submit to hard mode again?
VOG is still fun, and with the ability to level that gear to 365/34, and the potential for exotic drops, people will still run it. In fact, most teams I run with do VOG only on hard and Crota only on normal. Since not many people I know are bothering to try for necrochasm, there is no point to Crota on hard.
Anyway, what do you think, Bungie-verse? Is this the end for Crota's End?

Actually I imagine you'll see more hard mode clears. With one etheric light plus an exotic armor piece, you can be level 33 which is the same level as hard mode, which means everything dies quicker. And why would people do this? Elemental primaries with Hive Disruptor on them which will still be very relevant in PoE. Also another source of materials to turn into motes of light to feed the reforging demand.
