Highly requested feature, essentially it takes the DestinyLFG.net methods of finding a group and brings them into the game UI for ease of use for premade groups without the need of auto matchmaking.
First you select the group finder tab.

From this tab you can select whether to join a group or form your own. Once you have decided which route you are taking you can select which activity your are doing.

Once you have selected the activity it takes you to another screen to specify which Raid/Event/Mission/Strike you are looking to do and on which difficulty if applicable.

Once you have selected your specific activity you are brought to the Group forming screen where you can browse over open applicants searching for a group for the same activity.

If you decide not to form your own group you can instead select looking for group and again choose a specific activity.

Once you have done this it will bring you to your "application" screen where you take a snapshot of your intended weapon loadout and specify if you will be using a mic or if you are comfortable being responsible for a raid/event mechanic (Sword Bearer, Relic Bearer).

Once you submit you are allowed to go back to whatever activity you were currently doing in whatever gear you want until your application is accepted by a group and you receive and invitation.

What this allows is for easy forming of groups in game with but a few simple buttons clicks, some information is provided by the game to show relevant information about you like the event experience, light level, current equipment, class, spec, and it allows group leaders to form better groups than ever before to tackle premade only content all without the need of automated matchmaking.

Edited by SwankyButters: 6/1/2015 7:16:58 AMNot a bad idea but I would still like an Optional Match Making system as well.

This is amazing. I like it a lot.

Edited by Shadow_Legion: 5/3/2015 1:21:15 PMLeague of legends has a system like that called team builder. I would take a lobby matching system over simple matchmaking for raiding any day. I would never support simple random matchmaking. But a lobby system where people could talk and discuss the activity before starting could really work.

I like where your head is. I have this suggestion. Which is exactly like yours but done via menus and submenus and tableviews. This would allow for scaling in the future.

Bump. This is something they should have done to begin with

It'd be great

You said matchmaking and b3cause I hav e a zillion friends all 7 ~12 yrs old like me I don't want to even hear that word. I ha e no problem raiding with all my friends and your scrub for not ha ing friends. Suck it up. No matchmaking. I will oppose this amid since I only play pvp they will listen to me not you. Get good scrub. No MM!

Not keen on the whole matchmaking thing. But if it were implemented like this, i may be inclined to turn the other cheek. This is a good idea man, keep it up.

Wouldnt joining a clan or group be easier?

Nicely done! I love this idea for endgame activities, and it's an easy concept to evolve as more activities are added to the game. Bungie would be stupid not to add something like this into the game, it's something that should have been in from the start. Maybe they have similar things in the works, but to me, all the best and most obvious ideas have been coming from the community. You'd think with a talented and large team like Bungie they would have figured most of this stuff out already.

although some things should be overhauled to fit the design of destiny a bit more I highly like the idea. in ingame LFG system (not auto matchmaking) is definitely needed to provide a better social experience in destiny. every other social driven game like Guildwars 2, World of Warcraft, ... already has such a feature or similar.

This is genius. Perfect. Seriously. Can I work for you?

I'm not a Bungie Employee, but these are some pretty cool mockups. If you made them, have you ever considered pursuing something like this in your future? Here's some open ended food for thought though with regards to your design: 1) With regards to this screen, what if Destiny grows to have more than four raids? How would your UI accommodate an arbitrary amount of activities? Rather than scrolling though a huge list, is there a better way to organize the raid activities? 2) Similar to the previous question, on screens like this and this, what happens if a Raid is created that has far more "roles" than the current raids do? Would your UI be able to handle a raid where there are Dropship Drivers, Axe Wielders, Crate Carriers, and five other roles? 3) How do users select what roles they are apt at? What if there's a raid where you could only perform one role or the other, like you can't carry crates while you drive the drop ship? Would your UI be able to communicate the "either or" nature of the selection to the player?

If destiny does this in the game, I will have so much respect for it
