Optional Nightfall matchmaking?
Why isn't this a thing?
Thanks for all the opinions and reasons to why it isn't a thing.
So far, the one thing I see that can make everyone happy is optional matchmaking for the nightfalls

I think the majority of people requesting matchmaking are the ones who don't even put in the effort to find groups, and are thinking they will be matched with skilled players and get easy loot. It will be the complete opposite.

Matchmaking by clan would be a better idea. But if it's optional as you say it wouldn't be too bad

First time using matchmaking for Weekly Strike in forever and I get an AFK asshole with a rubber band on his controller to keep him moving so he doesn't get kicked for inactivity. I have gotten so many AFK players in Weekly Strikes it's a joke. Sorry, but I'm not about free handouts. Especially during a Nightfall where someone who does NOTHING can get a reward he doesn't deserve at the time and expense of other players. Thanks but no thanks.

Totally agree. I wonder how Bungie would feel about matchmaking if they knew the numbers on how many of us run with LFG sites? They're always claiming that there are "plenty" of guardians running without matchmaking but how could they possibly know that? I've never run a raid without Destiny LFG.
