Not sure this is related but... One time I was host apparently for a control match on Rusted Lands and my internet was so terrible that about a minute in the game the entire other team disconnected and our team won

I've never been on the side that gets spawn locked, but this last iron banner I was with randoms and someone they did it. we got all the capture points and full heavy with an 8000 point lead (somewhere around that) I actually got a hate message afterwords, even tho at the time I didn't notice what went on (to me it looked like the entire team just quit the match) I told the guy I was with randoms and he at least apologized, but seriously I'm glad this whole "spawn locking" thing is getting fixed

Had this happen at least six times this IB. Never seems to happen when you're losing though.

If a player leaves the other team the game can spawnlock dead players. There was a massive discussion on reddit the other day. Basically if it happens as heavy is about to spawn the other team is cheating. Bungie mentioned it in a recent post as a glitch/exploit they are aware of.

When it happens to me I take that time to report the entire opposing team. I figure if they do it a lot eventually they will get some sort of punishment. If they don't do it a lot, then my report won't effect them anyway.

We captured all the points and got both Heavy ammo drops and refilled our special ammo. It WAS a close game, about 10,000 for each team at the time. Then we easily pulled away after that. I felt bad for the other team because I've been in their position multiple times before. Not sure why this happenes but it really should get addressed. At least it won't affect Trials of Osiris since it's Elimination.

It's a common defect when someone leaves or joins the game. It will also happen in the story or raids when someone joins your team. Doors wont open, mobs wont spawn. All loading is put on hold until the player is fully in orbit or spawns. It's 100% bungie's fault. This phenomenon never happens on COD, or any other shooter I've ever played. It's not inherent to online gaming. It's just shit code.

Yeah, happened to me many times . Pain in the ass , and it's usually just before heavy drops
