The Weaponsmith should SELL FREAKING WEAPON PARTS!!!

I like upgrading a lot of guns and I've been playing destiny since the Beta but recently I've found myself grinding to get weapon parts just to upgrade my stuff. Until recently this wasn't an issue because I had an ample stash from back in the days of playing the loot cave. But recently my weapons and armor have gone many days un-leveled because of the lack of crafting components. Bungie says that's (the loot cave) not how they want the game to be played but really a game like this is designed to keep you constantly upgrading you equipment. There's really no point in playing the PvE once your equipment is fully upgraded unless it's to get new equipment to upgrade. I say bring back the loot cave!!! That or at least give me an equally easy way to grind for weapon/armor parts because at the moment it's pretty crappy! The problem is that grinding for weapon parts (or armor parts) takes several hours of play just to get the parts required for a single upgrade and to fully upgrade a weapon could take a whole week of grinding. Not really a week of play but my priorities are on the Nightefall strike, the weekly strike, the Raid and Bounties for XP to level my stuff not on grinding for crafting components. Grinding gets pushed to the lowest priority and if I don't get enough to level my stuff naturally while doing other stuff there's really very little time at all. It's nice that vanguard marks can be used to buy raw materials for crafting but now lets have glimmer be able to buy crafting components. If just makes logical sense to be able to buy weapon parts from an weaponsmith. It's kinda funny that the weaponsmith has roughly ZERO. value in the game at any level. The best stuff can always be bought from the vanguard and the weaponsmith only sells useless crap from well below my level. At lest armor parts can be aquired by buying green armor in the tower and breaking it down but buying green weapons and breaking them down yields only glimmer! #WTFBungie

  • For me at least it is not so much the weapon parts as it is the class parts (sapphire wire, plasteel plating, and hydronic essence), I think that the seamstress over by the speaker that sells all the weapon shaders should sell them.

  • This has to be the longest winded troll ever. Each of my guys has over 400 weapon parts, and I upgrade every legendary and exotic as I get the glimmer.

Wow, I never have a Shortage of weapon parts. I get weapons that aren't purple and i dismantle them, in Pve I tend to walk away from a mission with at least 6 green armor pieces and a similar number on Various weapon/Armor engrams and several blue weapon's. If I do a PVE mission i prefer the Strikes more enemies and as such more chances for loot, in a cave or out of it. Probably have close to 1000 or more weapon parts on my main and about 100 on my hunter (don't really need em since i have an abundence on my main). My main issue is there are not enough activities for Ascendant Energy/Shards, sure there is the Daily story for 2 and then 1 Gold Teir public activity for 1-2 more but that is it unless you can grab a VOG raid and just do it for the Shards/Energy (which is substantial but you need to put together the Fireteam first).
