Beer Drinkers

Here is to all of the men and women who like to sit down and enjoy a good brew. Whether you drink it while shooting rabbits with your shot gun, or enjoy a fine lager down by the canal at sunset, you make us republicans proud. Yes, even democrats can drink beer too, its a free country, and I'm proud that they are starting to make the right choices! So bottoms up fellows! Enjoy being an American, Canadian, Mexican (lest we forget corona), or whatever the hell nationality you belong to.. and enjoy your beer!

 • When you reach legal drinking age, and try your first beer, you'll take it back.

 • Beer is the most disgusting drink around. It is foul -blam!-e. Mixture of the taste of alcohol (which I dont like the taste of) and hops (which taste even worse). Really, just stick with coke (and other soft drinks), wine, vodka with mixers, and the good old standbys of milk, tes, coffee, and juice. Beer.....eurgh...... Oh and I am 18 (the legal age for drinking in a pub in Britain (at home we are allowed to drink from age 5), and I have tasted it. Is that why it is a guys' drink? Because it is so foul? Is there some sort of machoness of thinking it tastes great (I believe you can get to like it, but the first drink will be foul)? Why put yourself through the displeasure at all, and the cost, and stick with soft drinks? You will save money, not ever make a fool of yourself (unless you are inherantly stupid) or have a hangover. Oh and I am not trying to moralise about it, I just genuinely dont understand the pull towards alcohol, except the fact it is not allowed to younger people. [Edited on 2/17/2005 1:20:32 AM]

 •
Posted by: Caddywampus Jack and Coke is my alcoholic beverage of choice...
I used to drink Jack and Coke, but that was before I realized the genius of Captain Morgan's and Coke. I also drink beer, generally Sam Adams, Guiness and Yuengling Lagar (a Pennsylvania brewery).

[off topic tangent] Reminds me of a Simpsons episode (actually, I can apply the Simpsons to pretty much anything). Homer wants to try a different beer than Duff, so he gets Red Tick beer. He drinks it and loves it and says, "Something tastes familiar". It flashes to the Red Tick brewery and you see dogs swimming around in the beer and the taste tester takes a laddle full of the beer and says, "Needs more dog". [/off topic tangent]

 • Wine does nothing for me. When I sip it, I cough in disgust. The only wine I have ever enjoyed is Blouberg from South Africa. However, a glass of beer and a cigar are always welcome. If you don't like it, its because you haven't tried the right brew. Some like darker, some light, some creamy, some sweet. In the end, theres always a beer for everyone [Edited on 2/17/2005 7:17:24 AM]

 •
Posted by: Kingcream In the end, theres always a beer for everyone
I have tried a number of beers, of different types, and have hated all of them, and they all tasted the same to me (ok, not quite, but the overriding taste was the same). White wine I can force down, red is just too bitter. Vodka and coke is about all i drink alcohol wise, and that is so I cant taste the alcohol. I have stopped rinking pretty much now anyway, having drunk less in my life than some drink in one night.

 • beer tastes horrible to start with. its absolutely disgusting. however, when you force yourself through this you'll realise that there is nothing better than a cold cold beer. i do think i'm addicted though. i intend on quitting drinking later in life as it is terribly bad for me. at the moment though, i can rejoice about cheap cheap university prices and the fact that i live in a nation where you only have to be 18 to drink legally in public. in fact i'm drinking some beer now. danish beer to be exact.

 •
Posted by: dmbfan09 I also drink beer, Guiness and Yuengling Lagar (a Pennsylvania brewery).
Yes, two of my most delicious bar companions. Dmbfan I'm a tad disappointed in how you spelled Guinness. A slip of the fingers perchance? Another favorite of mine is Jagermeister and coke. It tastes just like Dr. Pepper with some balls. ....wait a minute... Many ball jokes ensue.
