Communication Idea for Destiny 2

So I was thinking about an idea that would likely have to be put in to a later rendition because there is so many changes to implement. Since my friends list in Destiny has grown so much, its a bit tedious to look at each friends details to see what activities they are currently in. Also when I receive invites to play Destiny, I would like to know what that party/player is inviting me for. My idea is something that Xbox 360 used for a while but really didn't pan out in application. I'm talking about the "beacon" system. My idea would be that each player could set what activity they are currently doing or more accurately what they need help doing. Example: Raid, PvP, patrol, weeklies, etc. You would set your "beacon" and then ping your friends say every 2-3 minutes or until you have entered the activity you wanted to play. From a HUD appearance for other players, a small message at the bottom of the screen states, "incoming message from vIRoninIv(my GT). Assembling a fireteam to hunt down Crota". That player, if they were in a game, would hear an audio cue and the message would scroll across the bottom of the screen. They would pull out their ghost and could use one of the unused buttons, say "A" to respond by message, or "B' to quickly join my raid team request. Would also be pretty neat if you could select a "ghost voice over" and they could audibly read the message, minus the GT, when you hit the back button to pull out the ghost. After you either acknowledged the message or chose not to join, you would not continue to receive the "pings" from that player. The "ping" would only come back if you completed the activity you currently were working on or returned to orbit. Just an idea. What do you all think?

  • I do like it though I am wondering how well it would work on PlayStation (as a PlayStation player) it would probably work better than my mind can comprehend but who knows. It's a really decent idea though.
