I know I for one would exploit the hell out of it, and I know everyone else would too with a thing known as a "mule account."
9-12 nightfalls and heroics, and as many raids as I could bust out. I would take all the exotic chances I could get with 9-12 characters, and I know everyone else who picked up on the idea would too.

Need more items before I could see the point of a trading system. As it is alredy- it doesn't take very long to build up a decent array of weapons and armor. Imaging glimmer farming combined with black market- all items now- Would get tired within 2 weeks if you had all gear quickly. It's that drive for gear that keeps the majority of players active. Having a trading system without a crafting system to support an economy- I feel wouldn't work as intended here in destiny. Maybe if crafting was a thing and folks needed materials and to pawn off finished products. .. it would be a good idea. ..but right now... we do this heave a need- unless you count- trying to leech your friend as a need
-
People would be purchasing all their gear/weapons if this happened. Just like on WoW.
-
Not enough content to trade stuff :/
-
You should be able to trade for the same weapon with different perk rolls.

Edited by Don Draper 714: 4/12/2015 8:01:05 PMWay to little content for trading, I played warframe for a while and trading worked great with them because they have a shit load of content.

The cold hard honest truth is the lack of weapons and armor in this game. It isn't hard to get any of the legendary you just gotta grind to get Marks (Vanguard/Crucible). The staggeringly low amount of legendary weapons hurts the trade value of these. Exotics are RNG either to get the Bounty or the Drop. All you have to do is get leveled enough and do Nightfalls or raids for the exotic drops, and weekly's so you can Xurn your exotic. But, (IMO) exotics are exactly that and supposed to be somewhat rare in availability.
-
Game breaking. Destiny does not need anymore of that.
-
And that's why there isn't now, and will never be, trading in Destiny.
-
-blam!- the haters, I want unrestricted trading!
-
Edited by Adoptedflame: 4/12/2015 6:35:28 PMI think if you calmed down on the comments we could get some more reasonable, insightful conversations regarding trading. Instead of "effing" this and "-blam!-" that, explain your opinion over ours. Additionally, Destiny's loot system does not support trading. Bungie wants players to feel a sense of accomplishment when receiving exotics, and frustration when you don't. It's not fair - but they want this game to have a grinding and working element to it. It has been the factor that has made people literally put thousands of hours into the game, and purchase the next DLC's. Were the game's loot system more unique, with bounties/quest lines for exotics, or exotics that are true my unique to players (perhaps if you use a legendary enough there are upgrades you could use to tune it to your play-style?) then we could consider trading. In this fashion, if you were a hand-cannon user and I a scout rifle user, and we found eachother there could be a trade. It wouldn't change the pace of the grind or take away from the game, but it would give us an option to find some really unique gear and have a neat story to go with it. I was patrolling Venus when I heard this weapon fire and it spoke to me like death. I had to find it.. etc Rather than How did you get your Ghallarhorn? Oh my cousin has six and gave me one for some shards. That's not what Bungie wanted from the game, and therefore this style trading will not be implemented so long as Destiny has this type of loot system. Just my two cents.
-
I think what I would like if they did have trading is you can't trade armor pieces only weapons of the same caliber so exotic for exotic and legendary for legendary and rare for rare. That's my opinion on it no armor pieces (other than class items) only weapons of the same caliber

Edited by Moogen5: 4/12/2015 6:21:29 PMI wouldn't like it... kind of takes the fun out of gun drops. I guess you could say the same about Xur, but personally I look forward to seeing what he brings. People will always find a way to abuse something in this game... sadly. By the way, I appreciate your honesty and the post. Respect.
-
Lol so because some people are complete nerds and abuse a function in a video game, the entire community suffers. Wtf some people have lives and don't care about petty stuff like trading when there is a horrible RNG reward system already enacted. I honestly don't care because I got most of the cool looking shit already and play the game for what it is. It's not pokemon. You don't have to collect them all lmao.
-
Two best friends One with 4 Gjallarhorns The other is a noob who just hit lvl 20
because NO ONE would ever exploit this situation
-
u can only hav 3 characters
-
If there was trading level 20 people could get to level 32 instantly by just having a friend give them stuff.
-
i was actually writing a detailed solution of this trading situation, but it's just a waste of time so eh. Bungie is just being lazy and sweaty
-
Edited by messyboy86: 4/12/2015 5:51:31 PMEasy fix. your account can trade and receive 1 exotic a week and 2 legendary. Simple
-
There'll always be a way to exploit the loot system, like there'll always be new cheeses after each patch. Trading or not, no big deal. And what do you think Bungie can do about it? Ban all those accounts?
-
I want it because my friend told me if there was trading he would give me all his stuff because he stopped playing a while ago
-
If there were to be a trading system exotics and legendary weapons and armor should be tied down to your account and all other items should be trade able
-
Uep, that's exactly what I'd do. Same think I did with ncaa ultimate team.
-
Trading.... would never happen lol
-
Trading is a great idea but there are so many issues with it. People would start selling stuff for real money and stuff like that
-
I think if trading ever got added to the game it should be with your fire team, they were there to help you accomplish the mission and should have the option of giving something they don't want to a teammate
-
The lengths that people would go to to exploit a trading system are crazy. I wouldn't mind a gifting option, but even then it would be pretty badly abused.
