Defender level up first , striker for pvp fun "shoulder charge" which I use on my TITAN and has saved me so many times, but killed me. At first I would rage at this fagtry until I tried it myself and boy was it a challenge

You'll find that each are useful depending on the mission or situation. For me though the Defender Class is best particularly when combined with particular Titan helmets- take hard Crota for example: At the start the Helm of Saint 14 might be good to confuse enemies and deal with them quicker followed up by swapping over to the Glasshouse helmet for longer Blessings of Light for your fireteam. I think there are more helmet perks with Defender than Striker. Don't make a judgement just on class alone but look at what armour perks can assist you and then you will know which one for you is best.

I decide to go with striker first and then when I get to level 20 I going to switch to defender

The defender has the best exotic armor piece in Helm of Saint-14. The defender also has more value in raids and group PvE play.

I'll go against the grain and say Striker in PVE and Defender in PVP. Here's why. Flashbangs allow the striker to be just as good in PVE. Defender in PVP can completely neutralize half of the supers in the game with Suppressor Nades (sunsingers, both hunters), can neutralize a hard point on control, can use orb generation better by setting the bubble up on a point or heavy where a decent team is going to get those orbs.

1 ReplyBoth are very situational. i pretty much exclusively play Titan, and each has it perks for pvp and pve. In general, I use Striker for pvp and defender for pve. Defender is especially useful in pve if you have the exotic no backup plans. You can basically give yourself an invincible shield using force barrier which by the time it expires(or you take so much damage), the cooldown is complete. Striker is useful in pvp with shoulder charge and transfusion which is great when paired with a shotgun (I have two to the morgue with full auto and hammer forged).
