City Horde Mode

I was just hoping that Bungie might think about an idea that I've been floating around with several of my friends. It seems odd that in a game where you have such a hard focus on working together we lack so many player versus element components. Sure we have strikes, raids, patrols, but we don't nearly get the same level of attention that player versus player content gets. I'm hoping that Bungie could implement a horde mode in the city, where a twelve player fire team must defend certain points in the city from a massive all out assault, much like the fabled battle of the Twilight Gap. It wouldn't take much besides a new playable space, but I believe it would go a far way towards fixing the lack of player versus environment co-operative challenges that this game lacks. In this mode a twelve man team of guardians could be put into action defending positions around the city from a massive assault by either Fallen, Vex, Cabal, or Hive enemies. Guardians could move out to either try and push back the enemy, capturing and fortifying positions that might serve as forward command points with turrets and other items. Or if they become overwhelmed however they must inevitably retreat and fall back to defend other positions. You can either win by pushing back the invading forces of the darkness by reclaiming and upgrading outer defenses and command points, or lose by being over-run and losing the defensive positions and outposts in the city. I'll let Bungie figure out the rewards cause I dare not wade into that horrible argument of the RNG system, but you catch the idea. Please bump this post if you'd like to see this put into the game, as I am fairly certain I speak for a majority of the Guardians still playing this wonderful game that this would be a most welcome addition that I would gladly spend many hours playing. And if actually successful maybe implementing other such game types on the other planets, where you could try and prevent the Cabal from taking the Buried city, or the Fallen from learning the secrets of the Academy on Venus. [u]Edit[/u] Just a quick edit someone below posted a valid point that the Cabal have already taken the Buried City and as such preventing them from taking what they already took wouldn't make much sense. So instead perhaps the objective there could be a twelve man fire time mounts an assault to retake the Buried City by capturing key outposts and forward command points in the city, expelling the Cabal occupying forces from the immediate area. [u]Edit 2[/u] Another quick edit, someone below made another valid point that while I'm sure we've all grown quite fond of defending Dinklebot while he takes forever to open a door and listen to just how enthusiastic he sounds, perhaps the Ghost could be relegated to just simply activating the outposts and command points upon capture. After all the last thing I'd want to deal with is waiting for him to open the door or capture the outpost/command point only after we have expelled the enemy from the area, and I'm sure most of you would agree. [u]Edit 3[/u] Someone below mentioned a great idea where each round is finished a larger, boss concludes each round. Perhaps maybe a beefed up Major or Ultra who could be the field commander of the invasion.
