I think this is a simple solution for players who prefer doing PvP and not so much PvE. I like the raids but should be able to wear three pieces of Iron Banner gear and one exotic to get to 32. I shouldn't have to run the raid because I never get the helmet to get me to 32. I think it would also add more variety of raid quality gear in game and stop making everyone look the same.

Inspect my warlock. I just need gauntlets from raid to be lvl 32. Because of this, I would like to see non DLC owners getting to 32 with IB gear, they could still be 32, just no the raid. Seems to be fair

I used both IB and Raid gear, for me it a quick alternative for getting a chest piece that has eluded me for some time in Crota's End. Though I'm not agreeing with max level gear for both PvE and PvP. But rather, PvP having it's own separate gear. Specific to Crucible. While PvE has it's own specific set. Though, just a thought.

I've got a bit of both (warlock IB gear looks better than the raid gear imo), and I only have one problem with it: IB gear does not require grinding for a brand new IB shard with each DLC in order to upgrade. I mean really, you can buy the IB gear(I understand it's limited release and you have to grind for glimmer to buy it) but are at the mercy of RNGesus to get raid gear. IB gear can be upgraded with ascendant mats, which lots of folks have a ton of and are easier to obtain if you don't have lots. Raid gear you have to hope the raid drops radiant shards instead of energy or grind the crap out Eris bounties so you can pay to switch them if you have energies lying around. I think it's a little unbalanced, but I'm glad it's here.

With 3 iron banner gear and one exotic you can get level 32, slowpoke
-
You can be 32 with three pieces of IB gear. Look at my titan.
-
You can!!!
-
Nope. Raids are THE end game content, with a path to get there. You shouldn't be able to get to the highest level by playing PvP.
-
Boots gloves chest piece.. level 32 with exotic helmet. So yeah done
-
Why would Destinys monthly be equalant to its end game content. Retarded idea.
-
I'm all for it. But raid gear should have bonus perks. In any mmo type game, everyone should be able to reach max level, but end game gear should have better perks or bonus perks for a full set, like in WoW.
-
32 warlock , ib gauntlets and boots, OM and raid chest.
-
I think it makes complete sense to have to do both. You get to choose OR in reality. Mix it up. Not only do you have to play in different ways but as a community destiny grows from more people interacting, rather than making dividing lines I just switched from PS4 to Xbox and in a week I have everything need from the IB. Now I just need raid gauntlets. It actually gets me to play crucible. I will always love raiding. My best moments come from there. I actually thinks it makes more sense to give players more options to get to max level, rather than having to get the ONE thing.
-
Am I missing something? If you got the gloves last time, boots last time or this week, and chest this week, your exotic helmet would get you to 32. Boom. You are a 32 having never run Crota.
-
Destiny isn't big on "choose your own path". They force you to play THEIR way. So what your will never happen, sadly...
-
A IB helmet would allow a wider variety of exotic armor pieces to be worn in IB
-
Xur has sold plenty of helms for you to get to 32....
-
Plus no radiant mats, no hive/raid specific perks. And I think it looks awesome! Plus you just earn money and rep and buy it instead of waiting for a random drop running it hundreds of times. They need to make a raid vendor and get rep per completion then just buy the raid gear.
-
Or maybe they could make more lvl 32 armor than just iron banner and raid gear. That way we aren't all cookie cutter guardians wearing the same stupid shit.
-
It possible, but IB gear isn't as good as raid gear in terms of perks per piece of armor. That heavy weapon ammo increase on the boots make a big difference for me.
-
Last IB had the boots and the arms. This has the boots and the chest. Exotic Helmet and boom 32. Easy. Never have to sent foot in the raid (no need for radiant materials either) and you get to look different than all those sharp boney dudes.
-
You can. If you played iron banner last month and got the armor and play it this time, then with an exotic helmet you can hit max level without setting foot in Crota's end. And you'll have the advantage of having a character that looks awesome. The Crota gear looks like an Adams family costume department reject.
-
So, look at my Warlock. IB gloves, Boots and chestpiece + Exotic Helmet. It is possible. But i've only done it, that i don't Look the Same Like all other level 32 warlocks.

You can dick head
