Bungie historically leaks false gaming news on April Fools, which while funny isn't necessarily believable looking back. I think Bungie should try to truly trick the community, yet if Bungie releases anything realistic sounding about Destiny updates on April 1st players obviously won't be happy if it's a prank especially if it's something players have really been anticipating. I do think it would neat to see an in-game prank that is a little...sneaky if you will. Everyone eventually goes to Master Rahool and their Cryptarch rank will inevitable increase as they play Destiny of course, yet many don't seem to pay their rank much attention especially if they're high level players. Mine for instance is only level 4 and while you can receiving blue engrams as rewards for rank increases on the surface leveling your rank up very much seems a bit pointless. What I mean is players aren't going to generally grind for engrams with the goal of increasing their rank in mind and decrypting engrams is currently the only way to raise your rank. To get to the point it would be an interesting twist if on April 1st upon logging on players discovered a fairly easy bounty to raise their Cryptarch rank being offered. If the bounty offered only a tiny amount of XP points towards your Cryptarch rank and zero XP/Rep towards anything else then most players would likely ignore this seemingly pointless bounty. Instead of being worthless though this bounty could actually offer a true reward toward anyone who bothered to complete it, such as a rare engram or item. I know it's not much of a concept, but it's more...tricky than a joke/prank meant for laughs which is more my style :). Obviously Bungie already has something planned for April 1st, but eh it's Friday the 13th so why not post something like this?
