What to do with endgame currency?
I'm hoping bungie has a plan with endgame currencies such as [b]exotic shards and commendations[/b]. I am sure this has been mentioned a thousand times before, but I would like to know there's a plan for these items. [b]Bungie, are you there[/b]?
I would like to suggest we be given the option to [b]use exotic shards to reroll legendary items[/b]. This currency is a high-cost item, that would provide hours of extra entertainment for myself and other players. I know quite a few people who have hit a wall playing because they have all of the endgame content unlocked - myself included (literally every exotic and raid item).
Now I'm not dreaming and asking to be able to re-roll the fatebringer to 331, I'm saying vendor and crucible weapons only. The [b]cost for a re-roll should be 1 exotic shard and 1 commendation[/b] - a high cost for the sake of a "random" roll. The commendations would keep me playing daily bounties and the exotics would keep me doing weeklies and nightfalls - of which I have nearly stopped doing because there's no rewards left for me other than random drops and playing with friends.
I only ask for acknowledgement. [b]Is there a plan[/b] other than to save these items for the next DLC? What happens after that DLC, do we just keep collecting currencies we cant use?

[b]Currency Values [/b](High to Low - for reference)
Crux of Crota > Exotic Shards > Commendations > Strange Coins > Radiant Mats > Ascendant Mats > Planet Mats > Enemy Mats (banners, etc) > Glimmer
[b]Ideas for Exchange Values[/b] (other than current standing/value)
- Crux of Crota = Fully level a single weapons upgrades - instantly
- Exotic Shards = Re-roll non-raid legendary weapons back to starting level
- Commendations = If used with exotic shards for re-roll, keep unlock level (points invested)
- Strange Coins = Purchase Legendary Engrams
- Radiant/Ascendant Mats = Spend on unlocking weapon or armor tiers (vs grinding experience)
- Glimmer = keep as is

Commendation = useless. I have about 20 crucible and 10 vanguard. Possibly when HoW drops you'll need it to hit 33. But that's it.

2 RepliesBungie, READ. Why all this currency when there is nothing to spend it on? Are you not experiencing this at your headquarters playing? 50+ commendations and for what? The gear and weapons you buy, you buy a very select few, and then back to stacking currency. Are we supposed to use these in HoW? If not, are we supposed to horde hundreds until Comet?

An option to convert ascendent shards to ascendent energy would be a nice option just like the expansion allowing radiant shard to be converted to radiant energy.

Haha, expect all these currency's to be worthless and you have to get NEW currencies for each DLC.

judging from what I have seen so far the ascendant materials will stay as is used for upgrading vanguard / crucible weapons and armor and the radiant stuff they will simply abandon in favor of whatever new material they release w/ HOW's as far as commondations go they are now too as worthless as motes of light

How about the vendors start given out bounties for special rewards?!? That way you can gain rank with them and re-roll when you rank up. BAM! Streamlined.

2 RepliesI've posted on this topic more than I care to say but it seems the answer is no. Ascendant mats, strange coins, motes of light, weapon parts, class mats, anyone that's played since launch has more of these than they can count. Which creates a Pointless economy, when Xur comes it's not a question of "if" I can buy but rather if I want to get everything or not. We have a Gunsmith that could be used to re-roll weapons. We have a gaurdian out fitter that could Re-roll gear but rather we don't have that and those vendors are pointless. I'd love to see a more balanced economy but my hopes are dying by the day.
