Farming spots?
I'm new to destiny and for that matter I'm also new to Xboxlive. I saw commercials for the game late last year and figured this was a game I wanted to play and a reason to leave Blizzard and WoW. I finally got my taxes back and got what I wanted and managed to get level 20. Did some searches online for ways to get gear cause honestly I think I really need some help with it, I may be unlucky but am looking for places to farm gear or is this a waste of time? I see a bunch of sites showing you how you farm caves but looks like that was nerfed. I totally got -blam!- in Crucible , I mean I got one shotted by just about everyone so I stood no chance and figured I need some gear first.
Any help that anyone can provide for this new guy?

3 RepliesTry Vanguard Strike Playlists, the Daily Heroic Strikes, Weekly Heroic Strikes and Nightfall. I find actual activities to give more drops and be better than endless engram farming. When you get high enough level do the raids once a week. Good luck Guardian

Doing vanguard strikes is the one of the better ways to get gear to level up as you will get lots of blue engrams and the occasional legendary engram, at the same time you will be getting vanguard reputation and marks that can then be used to buy legendary gear.

Have THREE characters of all the same type Swap equipment and guns between them Do daily and weekly 3 times 1st Do three public events per character per day - just pay attention to the location and hang out during a mission until one starts www.destinypublicevents.com Do all bounties at highest level possible Do strikes Get a friend to carry you through the harder matches Make sure you use the consumables !!! To get glimmer to buy heavy ammo or better gear Use your super ALL of the time Don't upgrade every gun most you will toss Good luck

The most reliable way to get gear is to grind the strike or Crucible playlist for reputation and marks to buy gear from the tower vendors. There's also a chance to get good stuff from any engrams you get in the process.

2 RepliesYeah farming gear only works in raids so like the other guys said just do RoC strikes till you get enough marks to buy level 31 armor. When you do that enough to get to about 28 you can find people on #recruitment to help you through Crota normal mode to get level 32 gear. Fastest way for sure. When you post on recruitment board just make sure to say you are new to raiding and need a good group to help you through, someone will snag you up quick as there are lots of good people out there wanting to help first timers.
