From my perspective, an individual who is almost entirely PVE-focused, it seems very much like weapon balance is almost entirely centered around Crucible performance/preference (outside of shotgun PVE buff). I posed my upcoming question/discussion once before just after the weapon balance announcement but it garnered no attention so I'll address my concerns once more:
We have several blanket nerfs to various weapon classes because of a few lone guns within those specific categories. Everyone with a brain knows that each of the weapon classes you nerfed have some strong spearheads in Crucible: The Last Word, Thorn, and Hawkmoon (HC); Vex Mythoclast, Pocket Infinity, and Plan C (Fusion); SUROS Regime and Shadow Price (Auto). I present to you (devs) the following questions:
Why blanket nerf entire weapon classes as opposed to nerfing the primary offenders?
Why nerf ALL the things and provide a moderate buff to pulse rifles to make them more appealing instead of providing a massive buff to them and leave others the same?
Why are you "balancing" the entire game based solely on Crucible? (This isn't Halo; PVE has just as much a presence in Destiny)
How are weapons in the game handled? Assuming you use object constructors for weapons when you change between PVE and Crucible (to provide that impact-focus in PVP), why not just apply the flags to buffs/nerfs as well? Why must my ability to kill monsters with X gun be hindered because some camper killed a developer with it in Crucible?
