More glimmer, what do you think?

This will fix some balance problems

Here are my suggestions, and explanations for the huge balancing issues in Destiny's economy. What do you think? First, my points. There are several economic mediums that muck up the buying power of certain things. Glimmer NEEDS to be more important, and more available. Liquidity is a major issue in this game. GLIMMER should act as the most versatile and abundant form of exchange. MARKS are earned through feats, so they act as TOKEN VALUES for rewards, NOT monetary values for resources. So, INCREASE the cap, and output of glimmer. Now, heres the balancing solution; A General Merchant at the tower, ready to purchase unwanted rewards in exchange for glimmer. - sell unwanted ships - sell unwanted sparrows - sell/exchange unwanted ascendant mats - sell unwanted armor - sell unwanted guns - BUY/SELL resources - sell unwanted shaders - sell unwanted emblems - BUY/SELL hadronic essence - BUY/SELL sapphire wire - BUY/SELL plasteel peeling Remember, its a MERCHANT, what they buy and sell back will be merchant prices. EXAMPLE - purchases items at cheaper prices than they sell them. (Only applies to items that can be sold) ETC. Remove RESOURCES from the vangaurd/crucible vendors. Marks should be used exclusively with vendor rewards -- they're victory tokens. Glimmer should be used to buy resource materials (as long as its made more abundant, like what was suggested) Removing resources from crucible/vanguard vendors will also balance out the grossly scarce output of 100 per week. MARKS STAYING RELEVANT: in order to keep marks from piling up, perhaps faction leaders should cycle through available wears. Different weapons/armor sold with different perks, and elemental damage. This can be fixed easily and done weekly to keep from flooding the game with too many powerfully rolled items. It also gives incentive to level factions and spend marks wisely. I have other balancing ideas, but what do you think? Suggestions, issues, fixes? If you don't think this will work, please let me know why. I'd like to get some ideas going.

  • You kind of get the buy back value of a piece of armor or weapon when you break it down. Well, the low amount of glimmer you get when you break down legendaries and exotics is a bit unreasonable tho. But I like the idea for ships, sparrows and mats.

  • I also think they should combine crucible and vanguard marks into one

    • I agree that ships and sparrows should give glimmer when you dismantle them. You don't even need a mew merchant just allow us to sell them back to the shipwright. After all, what am I going to do with my 5 Aspect of Glass and 5 Timebreakers? I dismantle them and get nothing.

      • glimmer cap needs to get increased and glimmer should drops should be doubled. Basically when you pop a consumable and glimmer amount you get should be the default and constant without the glimmer buff. Then when you use the buff it should double. What I mean is right now if you kill a major you get 25, pop a buff, you get 50. How if should be is that you should get 50 without the buff and 100 with it. Also for non major enemies. you should get between 5-10 glimmer with a buff, 10-20 with the buff. As for marks. I never liked the cap, but I can accept it. What bothers me is how useless the commendations are. I would have it so that you can trade in unwanted commendations for marks. Each one should be worth 20 marks. That way they have a use. I personally align with New Monarchy, but I detest crucible, so right now I have about 35 Crucible commendations in my vault with nothing to use them on since I never have any crucible marks.

        • There is no valid excuse Bungie can come up with to justify having such a low glimmer cap.

          • I think this is a great idea, it would save me having a ton of glimmer and having nothing to do with it.

            • How does removing marks and make everything cost glimmer fix anything. Marks are easier to get than glimmer.
