I think the game could benefit from this. Have a few exotics and legendaries exclusive to this zone with a zone exclusive currency to buy them rather than RNG. They can even just be reskins of existing exotics. Maybe the same exotic with elemental damage or what not. Fireteams are an option, randomized load-in points to deter camping. No objectives except killing. Have enemy spawns like the "moves against each other" one so you're fighting other players while killing enemies for bigger rewards. Think about it, one of these zones per planet with a really good size, full use of terrain and buildings. Why you ask? It solves a couple issues. One is RNG rewards. Right now Xur is the only guaranteed method of getting an exotic, and his method just isn't fun. The second reason is simple. For fun. The PVP experience always changes, no one fights the same/ It is essentially content that creates itself. Imagine a couple fireteams fighting it out inside a building, narrow corridors and what not. Hiding behind objects. Running through hallways trying to get better positioning. There you go, take a pre-existing portion of patrol maps and you're set. Using existing assets (and some new in the form of gear) you just created a ton more replay value, and made it so people like me who don't want to just raid for gear to look identical to everyone else or do Iron Banner when it comes around for the same thing have an alternative. The best part? Circulate all those old but still cool armor models. Give them new stats so people CAN look different at 32. The Arihant gloves for titan. Love those. I like the legs too and many of those lower level helmets. The content is in game, it just needs some tweaks to use. You see Bungie, what many of us want doesn't have to be new and original, a lot is in game already and just not being used. The answer to cosmetic armor is literally right in front of you, all you have to do is allocate the time to make it happen!
