These automated message responses are very inappropriate when costumers already told you none of the steps in this article fix the problem. If a human that works at Bungie happens to read this; please find a solution.

Please rest assured that BNGHelp replies are not automated. If you haven't already, please follow our Advanced Troubleshooting Connection Guide and make sure you have the proper ports open: https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049496751-Advanced-Troubleshooting-UPnP-Port-Forwarding-and-NAT-Types If you're still experiencing the issue after trying this out, unfortunately, the only remaining option is to contact your internet service provider for further troubleshooting.

How is the problem on the ISP side if it just started happening after the update you pushed last week?
-
Correlation does not equal causation
-
Cause if it was on Bungie end far more individuals would be impacted

It is on Bungie's end. As soon as they concluded the Destiny 1 update last week on Wednesday, hundreds, possibly thousands, of players using the Xbox Windows app as well as Steam immediately started to have the Weasel error about 30 seconds after logging into their characters. Epic Games, Xbox One, and PlayStation aren't affected of this issue. I can confirm this myself as I am one of the affected players. I can play perfectly fine on my console as well as Destiny 2 on the Epic Games launcher, however, I cannot play using Steam or the Xbox Windows app. I, like many other players who have this issue, have tried both basic and advanced troubleshooting steps you would normally use for the Weasel error. I have a theory that the issue only affects (not all) players who are playing characters created in Destiny 1.

I have a D1 character for sure.

Edited by pablojr24: 1/22/2026 11:01:52 PMAgain, How is it on the ISP side if it started happening after Bungie made an update on the game? The fact is that they pushed an update that bugged the game for a population with different ISPs, in different locations. Blindly defending Bungie is not going to magically make the above different.
