Except the Cabal and fallen have permanently killed guardians as well. Cabal weaponry is purely kinetic (excluding psions) which means Spartans would be able to as well.

The cabal have never really killed a guardian. That's why they are on the dreadnought. In the grimoire cards for cabal they are having a hard time fighting guardians. They found out the hive can kill us so the cabal want to capture oryx and interrogate him so they can kill us. If the vex can't kill us with out ripping us through time, the fallen can't kill us

The hive are the only ones that devour light itself. But from I can gather from grimoire is that they can die from pretty much anything. It'd be nice if bungie gave a decent explanation but oh well.
