Any action that affects the larger community, and yes abusing exploits in modern gaming does affect the larger community because when they are fixed it causes other changes to be made in the game, is not benign, by definition.

I said "more benign," not impact-free. And there are unquestionably variations in level of impact, just as there are positive and negative impacts.

The patch has made the item less rewarding, in the short or long term, there cannot be any argument made that the use of this cheat was "positive", unless you honestly believed ToC was too strong when it was dropping 1 exotic per 3-5 strikes, then you can argue ToC itself was simply too good. Notice, I said strikes, not cheesy kiddymode abusing the respawn system every 10 seconds. 1 exotic item for an hour or two of play would have never resulted in a nerf, which is approximately what people using them on strikes got. Players who never heard of your cheating, chose not to cheat, or didn't have access to the information, are the ones who paid for your negative actions, you did not, you already have the items you want.

Well, I still disagree; there's no difference between "too strong," and "too good." And yes, I absolutely believe after playing this game for a year, that an exotic every 2-3 strikes is too rich; but that's not the point: The point is that Bungie has plenty of great mathematicians working for them, and they knew going into it exactly how it was going to play out. It was a smart move: let the community get amped up and comfortable with the ToC, then dial it back to a point where it still holds value (which it does). The lessons learned from the ToC rollout will inform development, and they may just choose to take the same approach.

Glad you think it's ok, as long as you got what you wanted, very adult mentality.

Oh, in no way did I get what I wanted, lol - pre-nerf I only hit about 20 coins (that whole "work" thing). I think you're being intentionally obtuse just so you can moralize. I went to Catholic school, lol - so I'm well aware of the type. Let's just disagree.
