1. It FORCES people to play in games they don’t want to.
2. It makes people go afk instead of actually playing to avoid the suspension
3. You don’t protect people who are left in those matches against losing elo or a flawless card
Side note. Let us have a blacklist so we aren’t teamed up with people who suck.

8 RepliesLol 62 comments and not a single person agrees with this terrible idea
Side note. Let us have a blacklist so we aren’t teamed up with people who suck.
This would be amazing
-
Heavily agree with the sidenote. That would be wonderful, although their matchmaking algo could NEVER handle that lol.
-
8 RepliesNah it’s a good thing. The amount of games I play where someone leaves because they lose their first few engagements (I assume because they care about KD) is mental. Can’t win them all, but people leaving is contributing to everyone in the game on both sides having a less enjoyable experience.

1 ReplyIt's not an issue, I treat this game like cod, if I'm over matched, right to orbit and try again. If I get a ban ,, idgaf they need us not the other way around
-
2 RepliesEdited by jpavo1: 7/29/2024 9:21:33 PMOr maybe just give everyone some incentive to participate in the crucible so it's not deserted and the matchmaking system can make at least relatively balanced teams. Most people leave cause they don't want to deal with unfair BS
-
15 RepliesCounter argument: quitter penalties should be even MORE severe :)
-
1 ReplyIt doesn't force people to play modes they don't want to. You clicked the icon, you knew what mode you wanted to go into. The problem is the attitude of the quitters. "I'm not winning so I quit. I didn't get what I want so I'm going to ruin it for others too". Suspend them, get them out of the game.
-
In trials it also punishes people who can see the writing on the wall that it’s going to be a loss anyways because tweedle dee and tweedle dumb are just straight throwing with every life. Honestly I’ll take a 30 minute suspension over wasting my time with idiots in that kind of mess. Competitive in this game is a -blam!- joke.
-
11 RepliesTbh the only times it's honestly acceptable to leave is 1. Emergency or an issue irl (Such as a cat causing mayhem) 2. Joining a mid game match that has the team you joined uber losing with like 3 open player slots on your team 3. Your teammates quit leaving your team down 1-5 people.
-
Don’t quit and play the game out?
-
1 Reply1. If you didn't want to play, why did you load the game mode up? 2. If player is AFK they get booted from the game mode.. please then see 1. 3. Sucks to be you. Find a team or deal with the $h!tty player base MM 4. lmfao a blacklist not to play with because they suck.. The entitlement is huge with this one.
-
8 RepliesYou're right. How about instead of just giving them a suspension, they should just ban them out right. Then again, it wouldn't even be an issue if people didn't rage quit at smallest inconvenience or start matchmaking when they aren't going to play. If you have an issue with getting temporary bans for leaving or going afk in matches, then maybe you should stop doing it because I'm pretty sure the people who aren't doing don't see temporary or permanent bans for doing this as an issue.

1. It FORCES people to play in games they don’t want to.
That's a good reason, doll.

Stay in school kids is an appropriate response to ignorance such as that. 2. No. Just no. Videogame rules don't make people do anything. You sound like a programmed bot that has no idea that free will and choices exist.
-
Or.. it stops sweats leaving so it doesn't effect their kd
-
1 ReplyBasically you're mad because you can't pad your k.d. by killing and then backing out before a loss. Or if you're getting stomped and just want a reset. Just admit it. It's not just about all you said.

1. It FORCES people to play in games they don’t want to.
It does not force them, they can still leave, they will just have to deal with the consequences of that choice. Them choosing to screw over their teammates shouldn't be a free decision. If you don't want to play that game, don't load in at all. Fair weather teammates are no teammates when you need them.

17 RepliesHabitual quitters and AFKers should both get lengthy bans. If you want the convenience of matchmaking, you should roll with whoever you get teamed up with. If you don’t like playing with randoms, make a fireteam.
-
1 ReplyI disagree. It’s good they are actually doing something to dissuade people from habitually quitting games which ruins other people’s games. It’ll suck if there’s a cheater in your game but still. Now all they have to do if fix their matchmaking to get less one sided games and do something to dissuade people from going afk.
-
elo?? 😂😂 You don't wanna time out? Don't leave. You don't want a lose? Don't play. It's VERY simple.
-
Remember when disjunction came out? That's what "competitive" PvP would look like if there weren't any suspensions.
-
I think that blacklist idea isn't really a good thing, Just like I can blacklist bad players. I can do the same to good players and basically farm trials or comp easily.
-
Easiest way to get quitters out of the playlist is to give them to loot they want after quitting a lot. Then they won’t come back. Problem solved.

18 RepliesDidn’t realize Bungie started FORCING people to play pvp. I guess I missed that update.
