This is far and away the most frustrating matchmaking I’ve ever experienced. Nine times out of ten whenever I play for a few hours, it’s just nonstop jacked, sweaty players, often in teams. If I was of comparable skill then fine. But at around a 1.5 KD, why am I getting matched against 2.5+ KD players almost every game, forcing me to have a 15-20% winrate? It’s just absurd and I’ve about had it with this game.

3 RepliesThe loose sbmm is just that. loose. doesn't feel any different than last season.

Remember the older CoD and Halo MP games? There was never any bellyaching about SBMM in those.... but they had it. Yes, Halo 2, the OG MW games, they had SBMM. The conversation needs to be less CBMM vs SBMM and more about how SBMM is implemented IMO.

4 RepliesEdited by Skill Privilege: 10/25/2022 12:50:37 AMIt's completely infuriating and magnified by the quitter penalty. I used to be able to leave matches with stacked teams or unbalanced lobbies once the end was a forgone conclusion. Now I have to suffer through the whole experience. It's enough to make we want to quit playing because the emotional/mental cost is too high.

It's horrible. Bungie is terrible at this
-
SBMM they say.... Doesn't sound right, does it? Makes me wonder whether it's a thing.
-
2 RepliesDo what everyone is doing just stop playing quick play. Problem solved.
-
28% win rate for me. Pretty much the same as CBMM playing solo. Nothings changed. Same old sweaty matches.

Apparently they changed something with the SBMM today, loosened it up or something, and let me tell you, i have had some ROUGH -blam!- games today. Its the kind of games where it feels like you are playing against a 6 stack thats sitting in coms playing control like its 6 man trials, and you cant do anything or get anything going. Turns out its just a buncha randoms, but the team balancing seems to be so -blam!- BAD it might as well be a 6 stack. But I also had a few game where every engagement was a three stack playing together like they were conjoined triplets, if you were fighting one dude, you could bet you -blam!- the two others are either gonna peek with him or flank your -blam!-. And i get it, people wanna play with their friends and move around the map together, but -blam!- is it frustrating to play against players that are way better than you that also handhold. Kinda went on a tangent there, but oh well.

7 RepliesMy Trials KD is truly pathetic, 0.29 for the season, and still only 0.35 for this week in Freelance. I finally got 3 wins after 18 matches. When I look at the stats on destiny tracker of each match, it is obvious that essentially all of the matches I lose (that is, almost all of them) are really unbalanced teams. I don't understand how that happens in Freelance. You'd think that with freelance, there would be a more even distribution of the better players between my fireteams and my opponents. As much as I suck, it isn't even that I'm clearly bringing my teams down that much. Some of the losses have me getting more kills than my teammates, if you can believe that. As for why I suck at pvp, it is mostly that I've only been playing Destiny for the last year, and never really played pvp shooters before that. I also use a controller on PC because it just is more comfortable with my carpal tunnel. I couldn't find a way to use mouse and keypad and make it work for me. I just get vastly outdueled in terms of precision shots when I get into 1v1 situations most of the time. On the other hand, Control, since the SBMM changes, I do a fair amount better. The matchmaking there seems to be putting me into lobbies with more people around my skill range, so my season KD in that format is 0.78. I think the problem is that Trials just attracts all the min/maxxers that want to farm it and use whatever the current meta is (I got killed by Arbelest a ridiculous number of times this weekend in situations that I just simply can't understand how they even got a shot off before I could, let alone a headshot, given its half second charge time).

Loose sbmm. It feels no different to me, sorry to hear though.

21 RepliesThis is why sbmm was a bad idea for a casual playlist, the answer was to revamp comp and create good loot incentive for crucible.
-
It could also be the number of players in the current queue line during mm. I think it fluctuates during times of days and throughout the week. Especially in Trials: late at night for me is smaller pool full of sweat. Just saying.
-
I have a 26% win rate I'm just playing as moral support for the blueberries I keep getting matched with.......
-
Because if u a 1.00 kda or up u get everyone else the only one having fun is the people below .99 kda
-
I don’t know dude, SBMM is in full effect for me and it sucks
-
And no matter how much you lose you somehow still get the same skill level opponents. Its like your enemies are random and sbmm only applies to your teammates or something
-
3 RepliesRegular Crucible is just a -blam!- show of random people thrown together and they said it is "loose sbmm" emphasis on loose. That's why I play competitive. I'm not a competitive player nor are my stats ever going to recover from when I shared my account, but I love competitive cause it matches me with people that are a close fight instead of one or two people in the lobby with 700 flawless and 0 deaths the entire game. I recommend Survival or Elimination for it's strict sbmm.

Bungie I feel for the last couple of weeks have tinkered with matchmaking not only in control but trials as well. Matchmaking has got tougher. It’s end game content it shouldn’t be easy but I feel the matchmaking has got harder. I’m no god but I struggled this weekend in trials.
