This game doesn’t need SBMM in other game modes except comp.
People will godlike KDA’s will complain about queue times and people like myself with an average KDA of ~2.6 KDA (iron banner) will just complain how they can’t play anyone that’s below average at the game (funny skill issue haha).
If you wanna an example, go check out MWR and Cold War to see why others think SBMM isn’t right for non-comp playlists.

I agree with your general opinion . Being a -blam!- doesn't help.

2.6 is not average

Average 2.6? 😵

People complaining they can’t pub stomp aren’t my concern. For every one of those, there’s 100 more who are wishing that they could just have a good time in crucible. Adding SBMM doesn’t mean everything is a sweat fest; it can be tuned in Control to just give rails, np.

Edited by Sohsuh: 5/16/2022 12:52:39 AMActually the people that want SBMM are the extreme minority. It was voted out by the majority. People who wanted SBMM were only 10% of the votes so Bungie got rid of it. The game is super laggy, and switching to a more laggy system would be terrible. More lag is the last thing Crucible needs. I was waiting around 2-3 minutes per Iron Banner match today. SBMM would be even longer wait times. That is also the last thing Crucible needs. Quickplay does not need SBMM. It is not competitive/ranked. It's a free for all. Anyone can join. If you want to get good at the game you just have to play it, or go into the modes that have SBMM. The whole idea that every mode needs SBMM is ridiculous. There should be some type of protection for people who are under a 0.4kd or something, but other than that, a ranked based matchmaking system does not belong in an unranked, casual game mode. You don't design a game mode for the people who play it for 3 hours a month and complain that they suck. Most people understand that it takes time to get good at a game, and you're going to get rolled for a while until you start getting better. It's what we have done for years in gaming, only until these past 3-4 years where people suddenly stopped putting in time and effort and instead started begging to be protected by better players. Instead of playing the game for a while and getting better, they'd rather ask for easier lobbies. It's a shame. SBMM kills progression. I myself play for that progression. I want to see myself get better and better. I hated being the bottom player, so now I am putting in a lot of time and effort to be the top player. I have watched my progression and it's a great feeling that doesn't exist with SBMM. I used to barely hit a 1.0 KD and now I can top frag pretty regularly. I took myself flawless in freelance last weekend which would have been impossible 6-8 months ago. I've played hundreds of games trying to get better. I didn't ask for easier lobbies. Maybe everyone else should do the same.
