Seriously, tell me why I can't have mine and you get to have yours. At least with SBMM there was some coexistence. Now there isn't any.

Magnificent game. Stomp or be stomped. Very fair. If you guys are saying get better, all I gotta say is pick on someone your own size.

1 ReplyIronically, both sides of this argument seem to be making it for the same reason: They are trying to avoid higher skilled players. ( I.e. Either they want competition closer to their own lower skill level or they want fewer at their higher skill level.)
-
I avoid it like the plague. Not my cup of tea and im Ok with that. Id suggest not playing it, or go play other games. There are so many amazing games out right now.

Edited by I Am Sonic Rose: 7/22/2020 2:07:54 AMDestiny is a game that has pvp based around cheese. If i screw around hopping around laughing putting in no effort but still slaughtering the enemy team cause im using a cheesy weapon, Am i a casual for just goofing off not taking the game seriously, or am i a sweaty **** because im getting tons of kills but with something like wave-splitter or devils ruin? Having the casual experience based on the definition of playing casually in pvp is incredibly easy on this game. As easy as equipping a cheesy weapon and stomping while goofing off. I mean look at you using Ace and shotguns or snipers, you think you're going to get a casual experience with that? No! Grab yourself a wave-splitter or devils ruin and just kick back as your kills-rack up with some cheese weapon, part of getting to have the casual experience is actually choosing to have fun.

11 RepliesBecause you're playing PvP that's why. You know what PvP means? It means PLAYER vs PLAYER which=COMPETITION. I understand it's a hard concept so I tried to spell it out for you in layman's terms. When you engage in any form of PVP, you must face the fact that the opposition is playing to WIN and if you want to have FUN then you cannot CRY when you LOSE. Because at that point then you aren't playing for FUN like you claim to be. No sis at that point you are playing to WIN and I promise you in this game that lacks dedicated servers, SBMM or CBMM, you people will never be playing for fun because even in SBMM you people were crying about a lot of the same shit only with more lag. And please don't come at me with this whole "now I'm only getting matched against top tier players " bullshit. They are less than 1% of the player base and there is probably a higher chance of you getting one on your team if they ever decide to grace quickplay with their presence. The problem with matchmaking has never been SBMM vs CBMM. It's stacked teams vs solo teams and if you can't get a stacked team then I recommend you stick to private matches for the sake of playing for "fun".

2 RepliesD2 pvp is the casual experience. This game isn’t competitive. Your feelings are the issue....
-
You absolutely can. Just hop in and play casually.
-
Sbmm doesnt work! I dont get what people dont understand about that. These top tier players just end up making alt accounts that they dont care about stats on if they want to pub stomp lesser skilled players. At least with cbmm i dont get killed by telliporting shotgun rushing titans or warlocks flotojg threw the sky with MT and kill me and then appear in a different room... or hunters dodging and shotgunning me mid dodge!
-
2 RepliesYou sure can have a casual experience 😁 I do it every time I log in, play some strikes, bounties, hop in pvp when mayham comes out
-
I've seen most Pro-SBMM make two contradictory (mutually exclusive) arguments: 1) "A mode needs to have SBMM in order to be casual for me" 2) "Survival and Elimination don't count as casual because they're inherently sweaty" It's silly to demand that both the players and the environment need to be "Casual" in order for a mode to be "playable".
-
2 RepliesDestiny is inherently casual.
-
1 ReplyBecause it’s a game where you take guns and put them in the hands of guardians and say “get in there, go kill yourselves “. Of course it’s going to be wild and chaotic. What do you expect? Mr. Rodger’s fun time happy hour where we all roll around and play hide the salami and talk about feelings?
-
4 RepliesUr right tell me why I can’t have a casual experience, it’s nice not having to sweat every match.
-
You can. You can play the game casually. Whats not casual about Destiny?
-
In your example there the guy that went off on the other team has a lifetime k/d of 1.25 so you went against an above average player not a pvp sweatlord.
-
18 RepliesCmon sweats, tell me why I can't. Tell me why I can't play in little league.
-
Casual experience in any game typically implies a pve centric playstyle. I wish it didn’t, but it does. Any kind of pvp results in tryhards. That’s the unfortunate truth of gaming
-
7 RepliesApparently you need to ‘get gud’. After that you’ll be able to have a casual experience. 😜 Joking aside, I think that (something like) the Casual playlist (or the next IB) should have a choice of SBMM or CBMM. Bungie can then use the data from that to determine what the actual preference is for the majority of players. Maybe then we can move forward in the knowledge that the choice we have is the will of the majority, whatever that turns out to be.
-
18 RepliesIn my Opinion we should Boycott all 6v6 playlist including Iron banner. If you want your pinnacle play elimination or comp they are SBMM. If enough of us quit playing, Bungie will take notice, and maybe make a change. What we need is a choice of either SBMM or CBMM. If you want SBMM back boycott crucible. Tell your friends to spead the word.
-
Go try out COD for a casual experience... -blam!- they have SBMM too😂 get used to it man
-
12 RepliesPick on someone your own size is a great comment. I've played sports, video games, and all diets of other contests, and this should be the underlying theme for competition. I'm fine with their being a choice, for a change, but the underlying factor should be to play people of a similar skill level. If the cbmm breaks the skull comparison, it needs to be changed. If the sbmm breaks the connection, it needs to be fixed, but skill should always be a more important factor than connection.
-
6 RepliesPlay competitive for a competitive experience, and alternatively Elimination also has SBMM. 6v6 is meant to be chaotic and casual, and its perfectly fine to be matched with everyone. Also, while SBMM in my opinion ruins the point of casual playlists, the bigger problem with SBMM is, that the game doesn’t have a big enough playerbase to match you with others who are of smilar skill, and within the same region as you at all times, especially if you are above average, live in a sparsely populated part pf the world, or can’t play during your regions peak hours. The game is constantly laggy for some of us with SBMM enabled because i have to play in lobbies that connect two or three continents, and since we have this unreliable P2P-system my shots are not being properly registered half the time even when i’m playing people who are on the same continent but live on the other side of it, and it only gets worse the further away my opponents are.
-
quick play is uber causal right now, comp and trials have only become sweater as time moves on.
-
2 RepliesYou only want to match peers? Sounds like you want a competitive experience You want that go to competitive modes. Not casual 6vs6. That's the exact opposite of comp and has casual mm now. The system protected you for years and was choking the life out of pvp, you can't have casual modes have competitive matchmaking, if you want that comp exp go to the modes, but you dont, you want pvp to literally be flipped upside down and hide in a safe space
-
2 RepliesEdited by Infamous067: 7/19/2020 5:21:00 PMYou can totally have your casual experience, just go play comp lol
-
Doesnt matter what matchmaking there is. Pvp is pvp. U are not shooting thralls or dreg. People play to win no matter what they say. Because it should be a casual experience I should just stand there and let u kill me? Hell naw! Imma shoot u back.
-
4 RepliesEdited by Seth, Knower of Things: 7/18/2020 9:57:24 PMA casual experience has nothing to do with the actual gameplay. It’s about mentality. Casuals don’t care if they get rekt every game, if they get a couple cool looking kills, they’re happy. Middling players are the ones who I personally believe are making all these complaints. Including this, sunsetting, and all the other nonsense I see on here.
