All CBMM really does to help anyone improve is let worse players see what weapons the better players use.

That's not much of an argument. Like most pvp aspects of games gear matters sometimes more so then skill. Skill is important don't get me wrong but there are still gonna be weapons that make getting kills no effort or too forgiving when you miss a shot and just because a player uses weapons like that does not make them good.
