game over bungie...
just wanted to express myself to bungie in reguards to their recent "slap in the face" to the destiny community. if and when i buy a xbox one i will never again purchase anything with the bungie name on it. The way you chose money over community puts you right down there with the presidential choices! You couldn't even leave us xbox 360 users with a item manager, and force us destiny lovers into the purchase of a next gen console in order to further our playing experience. Sad , sad days when even our entertainment is subjected to betrayal for greed and greed alone. So goodbye and good luck with all that nonsense! nevermore "TATTMAN1970"

The game would suck on last gen because it simply couldn't handle it. The problems it already has would indicate it would not be a great experience.

They're a business. They're about making money. Plus, last gen consoles can't handle that kind of stuff, which is why things like private matches weren't a possibility at the start. You should be thankful they gave last gen consoles 2 years of content.

Live events, updates, Ib, trials and xur all req a manual turn on or edit by bungie. the app req access to bungie servers. legacy is no longer going to connect fully (if at all) to the main server. This is why they're doing what they're doing. Its not about money or they'd have waited till after roi when legacy had done paid their $30, to drop legacy. Look at it like ps4 exclusives. you cannot have xur sell the jade rabbit or have echo chamber be the nightfall because both the ps4 and xbone are on the same servers, just blocked from playing with/against each other by bungie. If they weren't, 618 would be the trials map every so often on ps4. Bungie controls what xur sells. What the IB game type is and what this weeks nightfall/trials map is. Bungie even admitted that cross play was doable but the only thing stopping them was frame rate and resolution differences between the players and of course exclusives. I hope some of this poorly worded mess made some kind of sense.

Lol, complaining because you can't keep playing current games on a console that's 11 years old, lol. I currently own 2 Xbox ones, one for me and one for the kids. Come next fall, I will be buying a Xbox Scorpio. Consoles are always evolving. Would you have preferred Destiny be released solely on current Gen? It's like wanting to watch true HD movies / tv, but complaining and refusing to by a HD TV. You have had 3 years to save up for a current Gen system. That's less than saving $10 a month. If you can't afford to keep up with gaming trends, I suggest finding a different hobby.

OK here is the issue with your post buddy. 1.) Legacy refers to X360/PS3 2.) "Next-gen" is now current 3.) Why continue on a console that can't handle the graphics or continued content? Consoles are getting better and better - needing more "space and shit." So, legacy consoles, as we know, can't handle that. They'd be wasting their money trying to push all that "content" onto a console that won't be able to run it. Great example: CoD: AW. When I worked on that project, we were told that it was going to be sold on 2 disc - one for MM and the other for campaign. We all laughed. Were told that there was too much content for one disc. Then they said more portions were going to be taken out. So, take your pick. Upgrade to continue playing... OR cry about a console that is already, as you say, obsolete.

You know it's happening to PS3 as well? And you have had since 2013 to save for a CURRENT gen console. As iv said before to others on here, why should a lot of us have our experience limited when people like me worked to afford our consoles? You're being selfish and spoilt.

Bungie employee Bob goes home after work. Wife asks where's your paycheck this week? Bob bows his head and says I didn't get one this week. Wife asks why the hell not? Bob explains Bungie had to buy a bunch of PS4 and Xbox 1 consoles so they could make the community happy. Wife says screw the community we need groceries. Bob says you don't understand they were really upset. Only way we could move the game along was to drop old gen consoles. So we'd owed it to last gen owners to upgrade them. Wife says screw their upset asses.

It's not like they wanted to leave legacy players behind but it was a sacrifice they felt they had to make to protect the future of the game. Also they even discounted the expansion to a special price just for legacy console players who are upgrading. You won't find a better community than the destiny community and have a gaming company as involved with the community as bungie. I mean when we have steamers that are currently raising nearly $200,000 for St. Jude while only playing one game I think that says enough.

10 RepliesI have a PS3 and a ps4 that both have destiny installed and the difference is night and day between the two systems.. The ps4 does everything better, faster, and smoother.. The 360 was released In 2005, THATS 11 yrs ago !!!!! It was time to cut the cord

Thank you bungie, for doing what you needed to do make make what was already a great game even better, I'm sure the choice to do so wasn't any easy one as you knew your be letting people down, but it was the right choice for the majority of your fans, and the future of your product
