With the master chief collection right around the corner.. I would assume a good chunk of the destiny gamers are going to abandon this game. Mostly on the Xbox systems of course but r.i.p destiny it was a sloppy run
*EDIT*
Yes mcc is just a rerelease of old halo games in hd but halos multiplayer changed fps online forever. You can't deny it. The base content of cods online was taken from halo. The dedicated servers for optimum online gaming and a ranking system that is truly based on your skill. With halo 2 mostly but halo 3 also. The campaigns for halos 1-3 were some of the greatest campaigns. It was a much more simple time when BUNGIE could make games the way they wanted to

Ok. Go play that game then. Bye

5 RepliesOmg... Destiny dying again? Wow...thought it was supposed to die last week when CoD came out... -_-
-
Nah. MCC is only releasing on the XB1 and the majority of the playerbase is on the PS4.
-
Got my copy, but can't quite quit Destiny yet. I just got this neat raid gun that needs levelled....
-
Yay... Another destiny is dead thread. Means more whiners are moving on and more intelligent conversations are going to fill the void left on these forums. One word specially given to you from me... Bye
-
Destinty? Is that like a sequel?

I think that people are going overboard for this whole "Destiny will die tonight" thing. To be honest, I have played ever Halo, and they were repetitive and stupid. I wouldn't spend any amount of money on the same game I have played before, but with "Enhanced HD Graphics". Once I get FC4 then I will leave Destiny for while. And I can tell you don't know much about the real story of Halo. Halo was based off Tribes. Plus, Tribes was always better than Halo, even though it never had a single player. It was always more fun. Also, I have a feeling that most Destiny players aren't Bungie Fanboys.
Not to mention to be a Fanboy of anything, you have to have money... Which I, and just about all my friends don't have.
I never have and never will care about halo. This is why I have a ps4. Aesthetically I dislike halo greatly particularly the look of the Spartans, the bulky enemies, and "master chief" will always sound idiotic to me.
-
I'm gonna quit lol but just until I've 100% halo
-
Just going to comment on your edit about the games being old but remastered. I've only played Halo 3 and a bit of 2's campaign. So in a way for me it's essentially 3 new games and one old beloved game.

As a longtime Halo and Bungie fan. I'm breaking off from Bungie and sticking with Halo. Until they redeem themselves they'll be sitting in the corner for me. I'm done with destiny after midnight.

33 RepliesEdited by mtwiggz: 11/10/2014 6:57:32 PMHalo changed online FPS shooters forever? You must be too young to remember Quake, Unreal Tournament, Doom or Counter-Strike. All of which influenced Halo vastly and paved the way to the FPS games we have now. Anywho, have fun with MCC! Hope it's awesome.
-
Don't forget about halo 5 beta and nightfall. And 343 added new content
-
No, it didn't change multiplayer forever. What it did was be the first to market with rehashed PC FPS game mechanics on console. This is why it was such a success. Games moving forward didn't copy Halo. They simply implemented the same game mechanics Halo took from its predecessors like Quake, Team Fortress, Half-Life, and Unreal.
-
The last game Bungie got to make the way they wanted to before Destiny was Halo CE, or maybe Myth 2. Don't forget, for some of us it's not all about multiplayer. I only go into the crucible for exotic bounties. Halo was also mostly isolated on the Xbox. Most PC/Mac and console gamers never got to play I after the first or second one. I can tell you how awesome Bungie was in the 90s, but if you didn't have a Mac, you missed out on some of their best work in my opinion. So I think Destiny will be ok.
-
Totally agree and I'd buy Zelda and Mario if they were on the dashboard however my playtime on those classics will be like MCC, little playtime when whatever "new" game I'm playing needs a break. Relying on past success IS why people still get CoD and activision knows that.

You must be the type to superjump for the win

5 RepliesHAHAHAHAHAH This was said about advanced warfare , but I see no decrease in activity?

Edited by xI Hellbound Ix: 11/10/2014 11:02:52 PMLol honestly ill have MCC tonight. Play it 2mor for a bit switch to destiny do that nightfall and heroic. Then back to MCC till Dragon age releases after that im waiting for The Division..thats what will kill Destiny not MCC. Edit: Another note Destiny is still on 3 other consoles no just Xbox one so yeah def not going to kill it..

1 ReplyJust like how it was gonna die when cod came out orrrrr......?
-
You are right sir, Destinty did die but Destiny on the other hand.
-
This reminds me of all the wow killers, every mmo that came out was supposed to bankrupt blizzard. I don't think that you grasp Bungie has already made their money, nine million people are still playing. This game isn't dying anytime soon.
-
3 RepliesWho are you trying to jab this at? Are you trying to tell Bungie a re-release of their games is going to kill their game? I don't they'd be offended if that were true. Also, Destiny doesn't have a monthly subscription fee, they made their money when you bought the game, nothing is lost if you stop playing. TL;DR: Shush.
Yes mcc is just a rerelease of old halo games in hd but halos multiplayer changed fps online forever. You can't deny it. The base content of cods online was taken from halo.
On consoles, maybe. Honestly, Halo was pretty simplistic compared to the PC shooters at that time. Also, COD/MOH were PC games long before xbox versions came out, and were direct descendants of Quake; like Half-Life, they were based on idTech engines made by id Software. Just sayin'. ;-) ~N~

5 RepliesI'm a fan of destiny, but halo will be taking the front seat after tonight. They are rehashed games, but unfortunately it will also be the best online competitive multiplayer currently on consoles.
